CLC class E coupe E convertible. CLK has been phased out

CL is luxury coupe their highest end even higher than S class

CLS is 4 door coupe. not really a sportcars

SL is their highest end mass market sports car

SLK is lower than SL but still a roadster

SLS is the highest in production now. only few units made

No more SLR in production alr i think.

well, everyone has different definition of sports car.

to me the CLS is consider as sports car,if not they wouldn't have made it a 4 door coupe(2+2 seater).

maybe for your definition,4 door is not consider sports car?

if so,maybe you should think twice on the E55 as a sports car or normal sedan?

as in the guy is so darn rich,

buying a car for his wife....

willing to splurge $200k for a car,

but wife only wants say Kia Picanto....

so Kia Picanto costs $60k,

the guy so rich, pay sales person $140k commission....

is there such a thing???

am just wondering.....

this is not about the issue of rich.

its the mentality of the person.

if there is really such person in the world, you should have doubts in his mentality.

i suppose the richest person in the world wouldn't have done this in a normal situation.

what i'm referring to is the showing off in our society....

'Hmmm...my Picanto costs more than your stupid car....'....

isn't this the society we all live in???

if a rich person wants to show off,he wouldn't have bought a picanto in the first place.

well,

i think our society is coming close to such status....

people are paying crazy prices for normal branded goods....

if you are into branded goods, you will know they have their value.

not buying a picanto at $200k and lose at least $160k the minute you collect the car.

totally different scenario.

infact, branded goods' value usually goes up as time goes by.

and iam talking about real branded names not some common affordable branded names.

In China, many multi-millionaires created by their real estate bubble. Not inconceivable for these people to tip generously if it means being able to show off. Have heard of young 20+ year olds making tens of millions in very short time span from properties, and changing multiple supercars in months.

But unfortunately, not the Picanto...

E55 is sports/high performance sedan not a sports car

a sports car is a roadster or convertible which may or may not be very fast.

does not mean <5.5s 0-100, its a sports car.

even the C63 AMG i wouldnt consider it a sports car just a super sedan or high performance sedan

a CLS is nowhere nimble or even very fast if you wanna consider it a sports car.

it's too bulked up.

yes it looks sporty but nope its not a sports car.

a sport cars would be something like a mazda rx8

well,i don't know if there is any fix definition of sports car.

but at least i know your definition which means a mini cabriole is a sports car also.

then in your case,a CL coupe,SL coupe should not be call a sports car?

but a SL convertible and CL convertible is a sports car?

roadster=2 seater car

cabriolet or converter=top can be open(soft or hard).can be 2 seater or 4 seater.maybe 5 seaters like the S class cabriolet,Phantom drop head.

SL only comes in convertible form would be a sports car.

CL got convertible version ah? i see it more of the ultimate luxurious high performance sporty sedan.

okok la

either 2/4 seater but must have the small nimble look for a sports car.

i understand what you mean.

but power is not everything and it does not mean the price of a car.

its more of the precision work done to the engine, the body works,...etc.

it is the overall package of the car that individual appreciate and not only in terms of power alone.

it will be more fair to compare the M power with AMG and not AMG with a base 335i.

and also M power are looking into turbocharging their engines.

i hope they will build a high revving forced induction engine.

do you think its fair to compare an Evo or wrx with a 335i considering the Evo/wrx is much more potential in terms of modifications with tons of aftermarket parts available.but still there are people buying 335i.

I agree, especially work on the suspension and chassis to cope RELIABLY with the additional power. It's not too difficult to make a car fast, but it takes a heck of a lot more work to ensure that it handles properly, lasts reliably and allows you to enjoy the car

Noble M400...nice and powerful

Awesome! but I wonder how to maintain a car like that in Singapore. I can just imagine shipping in everything from overseas all the time......

Haha, but based on my Singapore review, this would be my sales pitch to the typical Singaporean:

1. SLK is better than SL, cos it got an extra "K". "K" can stand for kool, killer, kandy, kharismatic, kinky, but it's not krap, kork, kompressed, kan't-make-it, kanna-sai....

2. SLK has a sleek and sharp shape. Consequently many people (esp. ladies) think it's more sporty.

3. SLK bcos it's shorter allows one for hassle free parallel parking as well as u-turning. SL is looong... Super Long in fact... Hard to park and u-turn...

4. SLK is cheaper. Save the money, go invest in something else. Esp now, Euro is falling, don't spend too much on German/Italian/French/Swedish car!!

:D:D

Nice one!

haha but americans can well afford it. after one year of use they only lose around 6k USD even for AMGs.

they can suck it all up unlike us! [laugh] they can change like underwear so reliability is not an issue for those who can buy AMGs/Ms

Yes, you are absolutely right! SLK does save S$1 at any car wash coz of it's k-size. Plus you won't need to vacuum cos there's nothing much to vacuum! Just a klaustrophobic boot and 2 kompact floor mats.

kei size? That's like 2 K cars put back to back

wah 180 to 250k....get porsche liao....and i will still spend less than that....the rest keep

Not a big fan of the badge, I must insist. Now with the sopmewhat hostile take over by their arch rival VW....i wonder what will happen...

Anyhow's...their chassis design and suspension setup still rather conventional.

I mean, it's nice to tell ppl u have a porshe, and they make a fantastic lineup of cars, but I duno, aren't they rather common nowadays?
