Overcharged in JB Shell petrol kiosk......

I just now pump RM24++ of petrol from Shell at JB 大马花园 and when I come back I check my banking statement I am charged RM200!!!!!

 

Then I call the bank the person ask me to go back to the station and check with them. So I went in again and check but the pump attendant ask me check with bank again because the receipt amount is correct so is bank error. Then I ask to speak to the boss he says boss not around and as me go back next morning.

 

So I come back to Singapore again and call the bank again. Then the customer service staff told me usually for petrol kiosk the amount charged is not the final amount. When the merchant make a claim then the final amount will be credited to them and the balance will be credited back to my account.

 

Anyone encounter this issue before? So I need to go find the boss again the next day or wait for the amount to be finalize as told to me by the bank customer service staff???

Hi, just use your credit card receipt and pursue with the bank. Raise a dispute.

i believe this is normal as exchange rate is sometime determined much later...just my guess...

Din sign anything. I use the card at the pump. Just put card into the pump for authorization then pump already receipt come out. No need sign anything. Because JB kiosk is pay first then pump later. Not like Singapore kiosk you can pump already then pay. If you dun pay no petrol will come out. Unless use credit/debit card then can pump.

Sorry bro, can't you cos I usually don't pump in Malaysia.

But if you want to use deebit or credit card, best is to sign inside the station after you pump.

You yourself filling or somebody serve you? For pertrol kiosk pump computer there is a sensor to capture the end of filling, prosibility the staffs are smart enough they just hook on or you never hook it back probably. Next time after finished please put back and pull out again, make sure screen turn on to 0.00.

It happpen to me once but not with regards to petrol.... i book a hotel via internet using credit card and when i went to the hotel they ask for my card and they swipe again.... so i tot its for verification purpose....

 

when i came back from my holiday i found that there is an amt chrg.... call bank no use.... have to make long distance call and was told that it is deposit.... after 2wks the money comes back...

I am filling myself, no one serve me. Confirm is end of filling because when put back the pump after filling the receipt will come out and when the next guy want to pump must either pay at cashier first or swipe another card.
