Protect rims from kerb damage?

After looking at the installation video, I wonder will it cause air leakage to the tire? Especially when it hit the kerb, the alloy strip will more or less shift a little. The ends of the strip does not seem to form a very good seal. Air pressure might leak thru that gap.

Hi guy, i saw this product online which protects our rims from kerb rashes. However i dont think this company ships to singapore.

Do you guys know of any similar products available here?

This was the webbie i found.

The product I know is named "Steering Wheel and Brakes", it is available in most cars as a basic package. When driving, it is best to turn your Steering Wheel to maneuver away from the kerb.

If a kerb trys to jump at you, having a quick strong jab at the brakes would likely stop the kerb from moving towards you... [laugh]

Just kidding har.. Don't get angry... [laugh]

Hypersonic

why not just buy tyres with rim protector

Why don't just learn to drive more careful and with a better parking skill [:p][:p]

Installation looks easy, but wonder what is the speed limit, especially when traveling along NSH.

It goes without saying that careful driving is the best preventive measure, I'm sure TS knows that and is just considering additional measures. And I think that is understandable because nobody is a perfect driver and nobody in his/her right mind would intentionally incur kerb rash. Carelessness happens to the best of us and I think what he is trying to do is to have a (presumably) cheaper device take the damage instead of the rim. Nothing wrong with that.

Obviously careful driving is best measure, but sometime, you may slightly misjudge or fail to see the kerb. I also kanna kerb damage to my wheel before. Damn heartpain, especially my wheel have red ring around the rims, & very obvious even from far, as the red ring have discontinuity .

Spend some good money to touch up, although it turns up to be a blessing in disgruise as I discover a nail was struck into one of the tire, & I took the chance to patch up the hole.
