You know, if a rich doctor caused this, people will be saying 'elite, that's why got off so easily'.

Now, a peasant is getting this, you hear people complaining that 'it's too light'.

You have to look at the situation/context about the case. If it's an honest mistake, something borne out of pure carelessness/freak accidents, then is there a 'villain' in this case?

Somemore that temp market that the rojak stall was located was infested with rats. With such a poor hygiene condition, food poisoning can happen from any stall. And it happen this rojak stall suay enough to be the one.

It is really sad that it need such incident to make the authority take action to clean up that place. In fact, before this incident...there were already reports of rats and dirty environment issues. All they did was to clean up a little and declare the place to be ok.

But shortly after this, they did a proper clean up and found many rats.

Actually, my in-laws and my older daughter were lucky to have escape without much problem after eating the rojak from that stall on the day of the incident. My in-laws escaped with serious diarrhoea and recovered the day after...cos they only had a little of the gravy which turned a little sour after sitting at home for a while. My daughter just threw up once, had slightly fever and was ok after couple days.

Aiya, that's pretty much the same all over the world.

It becomes price and time prohibitive to have everything at tip-top condition at all times. So we have to make do and take reasonable risks.

But here the authority don't have to sit in front of a committee to answer for their lapse, unlike in the USA.. As long Rojak man takes the fall, the authority seems to be not accountable.

Ah. Yes. In US, you'll have a class action lawsuit against their equivalent of NEA or whatever it is.

Agree... Not entirely his fault... NEA has a part to play to let the dirty temp food centre operate as well...

Guess it's the mentality of NEA... Only temp what??? Dun need effort to maintain cleanliness...
