AFV_V200 3rd Gear May 12, 2010 Share May 12, 2010 I was in HK last yr. 50+ yo stink-Singapore auntie and son was at a shop buying some tarts or bun. She took an mini egg tart. and comment "why black black one" YUp. from her horse mouth she utter that to the shopkeeper. I gave her a a piece of my mind and told her off. And yes. The_Bear Turbocharged May 12, 2010 Share May 12, 2010 (edited) i jus checked 6.5hrs to narita and another 7 to hawaii. hmmm.... not too bad considering my record was 8hrs. Frankly, I won't waste time and $$ on Hawaii. Its one of those 'Tropical Resorts' for angmos living on a continent. We are right in the middle of the best tropical resorts in the world, Malayisa, Thailand, Indo, Philipphines etc. IMO, Hawaii, Carribean and Mauritius are more for Europeans and North Americans to go to the tropics and beach. I rather do LA, San Fran and Vegas + Grand Canyon since already halfway there. More things to see and do. More different. Buth then again, its your CO. Oh ya, rent a Mustang and drive the Pacific Coast Highway. Edited May 12, 2010 by Bavarian

Mazdaowner Moderator May 12, 2010 Share May 12, 2010 Yeah, I told him eariler via MSN. Hawaii is good for history buffs to visit and take in the sights there, beaches, well we have a lot of nice beaches here as well. Unless our friend loaded, wanna stay at the Pink Hotel. Jamesc Hypersonic May 12, 2010 Share May 12, 2010 i met very friendly SQ crew in Rome as well! he allowed me to check in extra luggage when mine was already overloaded. london SQ crew very nice as well! SQ people are generally nice people, as many of them do not really come from highly educated or privileged backgrounds... that's why they are more humble overseas. really cannot tahan the OxBridge crowd or the Harvard/Yale/Princeton singkies. they always try to khek some kind of LJ seh when you talk to them... The majority of SQ stewardess are not from Singapore. About 60% are from Malaysia. SQ even do recruitment drive in Malaysia cities like Ipoh, Penang etc Maybe thats why they are friendly and not haolian.
