hi 1986,

I tried their high tea on a Sunday afternoon quite long ago already, maybe about 1 year? So if their menu/standard change I may not know, not accurate;

From that one experience I find it's acceptable standard buffet, not say huge variety, but good-enough mix of dishes, although there are surely many better buffets, this Lion Hotel one at (i recall, not sure) $25++ or so? About there already, at this price cannot complain so much, but also due to this affordability expect the place to be a bit crowded, but other than that, also due to this affordability, it's a decent place to bring your family along, young/old everyone enjoy a bit of a treat on the weekend, you know, something nice---that don't burn your pocket so badly! [lipsrsealed]

Usual stuff you would expect in typical Nyonya themed meal, kueh etc, staying strongest in my memory is the chendol dessert, I recall(?) it's diy self-service? So can hantam the gula melaka and coconut milk! [laugh][laugh] That;s what I like anyway, and the coffee, yes I know buffet so big got so many other things, but the coffee at the end also stuck with me, it's good, so make sure to save stomach room for one cup of coffee at least end your meal! that's about it, not strongly recommend this place, but it's alright;

maybe after you go then give your review/FR what you think about it, I don't consider myself a foodie at all, to me meals are just meals, fill the stomach and get on to other things;

BR,

Kenny

Thanks bro, i also checked from the webbie it is about 15 plus. Cos my mum likes peranakan food so i thought of bringing her there. I know of one restaurant along North Bridge Road opposite Parco Bugis. Maybe i can try that one.

By the way, the Quality Hotel you mentioned is at Balestier/Bendemeer area? Is what sort of buffet may i ask?

Thanks and how's your new E200 coming along?

1986, you are welcome, oh I got the price way off, I thought is 20++, so it's under 20! of course la this price, cannot complain too much! [:p]

Quality Hotel the buffet is a porridge buffet is it? Taiwan/Teochew porridge style (sorry I don't know the difference) I recall about half a year ago still pass by there was a porridge buffet, which not my liking, don't know if it's changed now;

Since on the topic of hotel buffets, you all might want to check out Merchant Court Hotel or Hotel Rendezvous also, I think priced under 50, quite alright food also, but again don't trust me, mentioned before I am not a foodie, sometimes go coffeeshop with my family, parents say something-something no standard, but I eat also find ok leh? ahahhh, not fussy so cannot critique food--those "lousy" ones also ok to me, I think even if I had the "best" one also I wouldn't know unless someone told me "hey this one very good famous one you know....." [;)]
