For pick-up, step harder on the accelerator. The Impreza engine reaches max torque above 3.5k rpm. For hp, there is nothing you can do that is legal, and please do not waste your money on those gadgets that promise to boost performance. Drive your car until you can afford a real performance car, then change.

lucky you. 21st bday present. maybe try walking and taking the bus for a week. after that your car will feel extremely fast. no need to mod already.

if thats your car in the picture, and its a 1.5 as you say, not a wrx, loose the air scoop. it only increases drag. on the turbo models, it serves a purpose but not on your model.

Driver's seat Change to recardo seat, rest of the seats => Remove, spare Tyre => remove , Aircon => remove , interior fitting => remove , Power window => remove .

 

this is the most cheapest and effective way to increase pickup i can think of, my friend actually did that to his esi

Just enjoy e ride man..If you start adding stuffs here n there, you will end up status quo eventually..Its a 1.5 engine and so expect it to behave like one...

kerb weight is about 1,325kg and it's an AWD car.

 

comparing a 1.5L car,

Lancer EX 1.5A, 1,499cc car with a 109bhp/143Nm engine.

kerb weight is about 1,260kg and it's a FWD car.

 

and comparing another 1.5L car,

Latio 1.5A, 1,498cc car with a 109bhp/148Nm engine.

kerb weight is about 1,130kg and it's a FWD car.

 

seemed like the weight for the car is too much for the power/torque.

no wonder you complain.

 

however, it is a gift, just drive it and leave it stock.

when you grow older, earn yourself a more powerful car.~

Please leave your car stock. Nothing much can be done to improve the performance. Just enjoy your ride and gain more driving experience and built up your NCD. I sold my 1.6 TS just after 9months and change to 2.0. Cheer.
