Proton collaborate with other manufacturer for car above 1.8 for now as the market is not quite profitable compared to below 1.6cc below segment.Who knows after Waja and Perdana sales they might built their own fully? And starting from end 2010 all new Proton cars will be equipped with 6 speed auto from ZF and not the Mitsubishi based 4 speed gearbox.

hye all.. im a newbie here in this forum.. i just got attracted to join this forum since u guys have so much details on the new models from proton and what not. im just really into the progress and the developments of proton..

anyway.. following the latest news about the agreement between proton and vw did not materialise.. what would happen to the replacement for perdana? are they going to stall the project? im confused since bro mustang said he has seen the car personally. is the project still on or will end the same fate as the proton gallant/perdana rebadge? Thanks.

p.s: on the issue of proton rebadging the lancer is true.. the market is just not there for them to develop a whole new car.. many other car companies are also doing this.. proton traded their persona and exora for this lancer..

the Proton Exora was really the car needed to rescue Proton out from a debt crisis....

however, for progress,

they just can't bank in on an MPV model....

more has to be done for Proton to at least compete with the Chinese or Koreans....

but judging by the cars they make,

seems like they're just not interested in making a decent car....

just making white goods to 'make money'....

The Lancer re badge aka Waja will most likely be the 1.8l model only. And it should be available in SG due to the license agreement and also in SG, there's no 1.8l model. It will be released late this year at Malaysia but unknown for SG.

For the future perdana, it looks like the project is being delayed after the failed partnership.

Proton is also looking into a turbo version based on Campro, which is for the Exora version in 2011-2012.

Future cars like EMAS, 2nd Generation Persona are still on the designing progress in Italy where design are being sourced from. However, for the engine wise, it is still an unkown whether they will continue with Campro or sourcing.

Also, Proton has no intension to sell Lotus because Proton depends heavily on Lotus for the Handling and Tuning chassis part....Imagine the days without Lotus, could not even imagine that!

Just what i have know...

From what i know they will still using Campro with a bit of enhancement.Starting 2011 all auto gearbox will be supplied by ZF and not Mitsubishi.

Proton has to seriously improve their build quality on the car lah....

come out with unique design for their cars too....

cos it'll not be possible for them to get a global outreach should they still stick with such conservative and plan design....

just look at the upcoming Hyundai Avante (my avatar) as well as the Naza Forte sold in Malaysia....

Proton can be said to be out of the competition....

so far only their Exora appeals to many, cos how many 1.6L full-sized MPV's are there in the market???

and Malaysia has one of the biggest family members in the whole world....

hence i've said Exora is a great solution from their debt crisis....

Bro i'm sorry to dissapoint you but we cant take pictures as the car was in the R&D area which prohibited visitor or Proton staff to take pic.I had a deal with my cousin who work there as i shall respect his decision unless he gave me...What i can say its prototype for the time being,Front look like Passat with side mirror indicator,Rear like Honda Civic with LED lights and probably using 17inch alloy.

Oh that's cool. there is no need to be sorry. it is sad case though it ends up like the same fate as the proton perdana/gallant. btw bro.. have u heard about a sports car that proton once rumored to produce one? i've read an article about it long time ago but never knew what was the outcome or is it still in progress.. i know its out of topic but im just wondering since u have an insider working there. hehe. if u do, do u know whats the status of this project? i just like to know about whats proton's current development now. Thanks.

p.s: Im thinking of pursuing my career at proton or maybe lotus.. u know the procedure and requirements needed to apply there. ur help would be much appreciated.

That one its a prototype from Lotus APX,Its a crossover 3.0litre still in Proton TG Malim.Till now no news but there's rumours to built a totally new Arena Turbodiesel 4 doors.Proton need somemore more innovative.Right now they have Dr Eppal an ex-BMW Quality advisor holding Quality Manager post.Basic requirement Mechanical Engineering degree? But work where SG or MY?Proton have to overcome the vendor supply problems,Right now under Dato Zainal there's less fraud case like Taiwan parts,Even the aircon now using are from Denso Japan compared to local ones last time. They need to curb fast to gain customer confidence.

well thats a good news about eliminating the cheap vendors.. i think they need to run some awareness for the consumers to be educated about the parts their using.. i think through this, it would help them to gain peoples trust on the brand.. Oh.. I wasn't talking about the APX from lotus.. I was talking about a sports car that was rumored to replace the putra during the Mahaleel's era, during the fuss on savvy and another car. I remembered reading it that they gonna come out with a ports car after the launch savvy. project sepang its called i believe.

I am from MY and currently working at a company in the US. I graduated here. I'm also doing a research on engineering design. I was thinking of going back and maybe I could contribute some of my skills there. Also, I've not reached where I wanted to be in and where I have my full interest in, to build cars. If you know there is an opening, mind letting me know? Thanks.

Maybe you email them about your interest and send your perusal to MY Proton?Proton since Dato Syed Zainal are more refined than Tengku Mahaleel time.Last time i heard a lot of undertable going on.CEO approve money for Japanese parts but some Tom dick or harry ordered Taiwan/China parts to be fitted in most Mitsubishi-engined cars.Thank God both my Saga BLM and Exora didnt have suchs problem like malfunction power windows,Electronic parts etc. However for accessories Proton need to be generous to their customers,Its heytime they fitted 4 airbags and larger rims for their top of the range High Line models
