Beware of the water bottle left in your car

Many are unaware of poisoning caused by re-using plastic bottles. Some of you may be in the habit of using and re-using your disposable mineral water bottles (eg. Evian, Aqua, Ice Mountain, Vita, etc), keeping them in your car or at work. Not a good idea. In a nutshell, the plastic (called polyethylene terephthalate or PET) used in these bottles contains a potentially carcinogenic element (something called diethylhydroxylamine or DEHA). The bottles are safe for one-time use only; if you must keep them longer, it should be or no more than a few days, a week max, and keep them away from heat as well. Repeated washing and rinsing can cause the plastic to break down and the carcinogens (cancer-causing chemical agents) can leach into the water that YOU are drinking. Better to invest in water bottles that are really meant for multiple uses. This is not something we should be scrimping on. Those of you with family - to please advise them, especially children."

any recommendations for a good water bottle that can withstand heat?

Just sharing an alternative view.

Solar water disinfection, also known as SODIS[1] is a method of disinfecting water using only sunlight and plastic PET bottles. SODIS is a free and effective method for decentralized water treatment, usually applied at the household level and is recommended by the World Health Organization as a viable method for household water treatment and safe storage.[2] SODIS is already applied in numerous developing countries. Educational pamphlets on the method are available in many languages.

I don't buy Bottle Mineralised or Distilled water as they are very expensive.

My family brings our own Diamond water when we go out.

If you calculate the average cost, its must cheaper than you buy bottle water in the long run.

There are so many brands of water purification systems available today too.

I don't buy EVIAN as only NAIVE people buys them hahaha.. if you notice, most are girls.

We all grew up drinking tap water! What's wrong with tap water anyway, as compared to so-called Diamond water?

If I could remember correctly, a water company once advertised that our tap water is contaminated and promoting their purified water system. kena shot down by the Govt agency big time, don't know whether they kena sued or not in the end [laugh]. Correct me if I'm wrong, everyone [cool].

In JB, they actually have mineral water dispenser (much like those vending machine). Someting like RM0.10 for 500ml. You bring your own bottle to fill up the water. Why need diamond water? more hype than anything else.

My son @ 3yrs old suffers from severe constipation. Tried everything from eating Bananas, Papaya, Prunes and $$ at doctors, all failed to regulate his bowels.

He pooed only once in 7~8 days and is really painful - No joke here pls.

We chance upon thiswater from some promo and tried their 1 mth free use.

My son drank that day and pooed. then from 8 days to 6 to 4 to 2 to everyday.

At first I donwan to buy as it already solve my sons problems but wife wants to try for her Eczema on her forehead (its a patch that won't go away from all the $$ we buy for lotions, cleansers and creams).

She has to let down her hair to conver it.

After 3 mths into using the water to wash face and just apply it, the eczema patch is gone !

I'm not from this company and only a user.

As for me, frankly no effect...
