Redline is only 6.5K typical.

 

Can't be too bad what. It's considered normal. In fact, it's healthy for engine and gearbox.

 

I tried 5.5K from 1st to 2nd gear occassionally. No problem. Change ATF every year.

 

Autobox is normally killed by HEAT (frequently caught in slow moving traffic).

 

Engine is normally killed by under-revving (constantly driving/changing gear at low engine speed). Very few people can stand the sound and vibration at constant engine speed of >5K at prolonged period. Chances of wrecking an engine at too low rpm is higher than wrecking it at high rpm.

 

3.5K is also the rpm where the torque peaks for most engines.

I do redline at least once a week for the past 5 years consistently. Normally change at 4~5k RPM. Car still not dead and working fine with regular servicing.

most of us will usually upshift at 3,000rpm during normal driving....

 

it's totally fine...

 

in fact at least once a week try to rev your car till 5,000rpm....

 

will make your engine run smoother....

I don't think so , i always ram my throttle to 3k rpm on 1st gear nothing happen to my engine le ....

I don't know about your car. Auto car pick-up need not be slow. The Sports mode, paddle shift and even D3 exist for a purpose. Newer Auto car are not like yesterday, where you have to put to D and drive till you sell your car.

 

I drive my auto like a manual for the past 2 cars. never have gearbox problem. I use stick and paddle shift everyday.

Should not have any problem for engine.

 

Just change your transmission fluid at major servicing interval and your gearbox should be fine.

Bad for wallet only as FC is a tad higher... other than that, all is fine..
