Kr_toy 1st Gear April 29, 2010 Share April 29, 2010 lazy to read thru entire thread. old and cracked engine mountings will cause excessive vibration to the engine inside the engine bay. but new ones will definately cause more vibration to the entire cabin cos the engine is held mroe firmly and thus vibration is transferred directly over from the engine to beyond the firewall. Do check with the workshop , what kind of engine mountings they replaced for you. my experience is , i have swopped in a set of cusco engine mountings and engine torque damper , i can feel the excessive vibration even when car is idling. and sometimes it got so ridiculous that my rear view mirror might shake out of place. and yes most if not all the time when i drive , my side mirrors seems blurry. ( my side mirrors have these wordings "object appeals to be ........." and the words are always blurry ) New original mount will not give harsher vibration and normal car doesnt come with torque damper which is the source of all vibrations ↡ Advertisement
Zyrofillica 1st Gear April 29, 2010 Share April 29, 2010 errr new engines mounts damp actually dampens engine vibrations better as the rubber has not hardened. (do not know about the newer liquid filled ones)

Byond 1st Gear April 30, 2010 Share April 30, 2010 if engine mounts worn out best to changed use back original oem if urs is a toyota, use back toyota if urs is a mazda, use back mazda will not go wrong one i change my mounts two times in 3.5 years no such problem one i believe the WS that TS have engaged leaves much to be desired, esp on giving such response and after sales service if based on what TS said is true. if u need a ws, i can recommend a non glamourous ws, but one that can do that job. Fcw75 Hypersonic April 30, 2010 Share April 30, 2010 Yep, changing of enging mountings is suppose to reduce the vibration, NOT increase it. The rubber in the old mounting have hardened and cracked, that's why the vibration will even more.

Most of them liquid filled ?
Pratakosong 2nd Gear April 30, 2010 Share April 30, 2010 changed my mountings for my little Kelisa when it hit 55,000Km at Comfort Delgro.. used diahatsu original ones. About $500 plus for everything and the vibrations in my auto car got noticiably less. Its a minimum 1 day job.

Blackseal 1st Gear April 30, 2010 Share April 30, 2010 never sit in one before expensive ah? Normal cars have 3 to 4 engine mounts depending on make.....The Teana is the only Jap I can think of that comes with 6 ! Some established contis dun even have that many.....More engine mounts = higher cost
Kangadrool Supersonic April 30, 2010 Share April 30, 2010 $500+ for engine mounting? Original Daihatsu parts are freaking expensive in Singapore unless you are driving those green colour Daihatsu lorries. Cost more than conti cars.
