Should not have this problem. I changed mine and nothing of what you stated above happens. Not advisable to change back to old mountings.
Ethene 1st Gear April 28, 2010 Author Share April 28, 2010 (edited) I went back and apparently they cant do anything. The explaination the boss give is that the engine with new mounting is very firm now so the engine vibrations will be felt somehow. Freifeit Neutral Newbie April 28, 2010 Share April 28, 2010 Please check to confirm that the workshop installed the ori mountings. Based on your iput, there are 2 possibilities: 1) they used the PU mountings or 2) they mounted wrongly. just my 2cts.
Heartbreakid 6th Gear April 28, 2010 Share April 28, 2010 New mountings should actually absorb the vibrations from the engine. And actually vibrations should be felt from old engine mountings instead, because the mountings condition has deteriorated. Maybe you should have the engine idling adjusted so that it doesn't vibrate that much.

So_nice 6th Gear April 28, 2010 Share April 28, 2010 new mounting shouldnt cause all these problems. even when i changed to fairly new (used) mountings on my previous car, the stable effect can be felt.

Even my sunroof is rattling... PU = poly urethane. its like those super strength bushings. brands such as energy bushings, superpro, and polybushings offer. engine mountings are 'viscous units' this days, means inside got fluid one. Zyrofillica 1st Gear April 28, 2010 Share April 28, 2010 maybe he thought u racer beng so install those racing mountings? Used to strengthen the mount between the chassis and the engine due to the increased power output and twisting of the engine from constant redlining. much stronger and stiffer than stock mounts and has no vibration damping properties.
