Opel17 6th Gear May 1, 2010 Share May 1, 2010 What i learned is that, sometimes in any hotel, there is one room that NOT supposed to be used and remain closed for all guest, unless a "difficult" guest like me comes and making everyone life difficult... :-)) I alway make sure to be polite to service staff attending to us, otherwise we may get "preferential treatment". eg. special hotel room, special ingredients in food, etc... I am sure they will try their best to oblige if room [eg. with mountain view, broadband, etc...] are available.
Toledo 1st Gear May 1, 2010 Share May 1, 2010 this happened many years ago when i was still in NS. went with my malay friend to hike Mt Ophir. when we reached the summit ard noon, the place was v serene and we saw some young pretty ladies a short distance away playing. they were wearing traditional malay kebaya and no signs that they had a tough time trekking...no bags... they were v happy, running, laughing, chasing each other (much like in movies !) knowing my friend, i asked to to approach them lah...make friends. he turned v quiet and said he's tired and closed his eyes. i LL and felt sleepy.. kooned... after a short nap, found the girls gone. we went bak all the way down and my friend was v quiet all the time. later he told me there are is a legend of a princess who lives in Mt Ophir...sometimes, she will appear as a young or old lady. so the girls are prob her maids... we had earlier on the way up the summit encountered a family coming down - a couple and their OLD MOTHER!! i said 'hi' and we carried on.. until today, i still cannot rationalise how the girls got up there w/o any sweat... i hv been to Mt Ophir 4 times... i know there is a transmitter station on 1 of the peaks but the Mt Ophir peak is not accessible by vehicle. must climb up one.... but somehow i wasn't spooked by this incident. i only remembered the place was v serene with happy laughter of the girls... Red_line Clutched May 1, 2010 Share May 1, 2010 I have one encounter 6 years back in Malacca A-Famosa Resort and it's all my FAULT!!!!! Booked a room for 3 days, upon arriving, the recept can't find my booking, all room almost fully occupied, I was so furious and demand for one (i brought my printed booking slip so they have no choice). The room given to me was very poor even toilet windows covered with old-newspaper, the room a bit smelly i became even madder and request for another room change. They said no more already, then talked to the manager and after 1 hour she gave me "THE ROOM". We were very happy with this one, all seems to be fine. 1st night ... swee, 2nd night also no prob... then 3rd night somebody trying to open the door, we were sleeping and it was after midnight, i looked thru peep-hole nobody, opened the door nobody, then it happen again still nobody... then back to sleep, 3 am my gf woke me up, heard somebody talking in our toilet, i went there nobody. Then heard the water running and still heard people whispering. Wa lau!!!! i got fed up and start telling them not to disturb us since its our last night. So went home, try to forget about what happened. Few days cant sleep properly and sometimes while sleeping in the mid of night heard my mother voice like yelling for help. then while sleeping somebody scream the deaf of me right into my ears until i jumped out of bed. Dammit, so went for help and long story short we found out that "IT" followed me home from Malacca, a "LADY" ! s--t...... but all ok after that. What i learned is that, sometimes in any hotel, there is one room that NOT supposed to be used and remain closed for all guest, unless a "difficult" guest like me comes and making everyone life difficult... :-)) sth like this happened to me too but its at Sunway Lagoon . We demanded for a connecting room even though the receptionist say don't have . At night , we heard knocking and people pressing the bell but there was no one at all . its not possible for a person to do that cause our room is the the middle of a long walkway and if people walk or run , there would be the carpet sound . i think its our fault too for demanding a room as well as pressing bells of random people's room . yup agreed that we should not demand for a room if there's none . we might end up being in a dirty room . Scion Turbocharged May 1, 2010 Share May 1, 2010 Certainly not ruling out the "other" possibilities But forested areas are often never quiet, whether day or night. Many sorts of insects and small animals make all sorts of weird noises and some of them when heard at night can be downright scary if you don't know what they are. Even crickets... there are so many different species of crickets, some of which can only be found in forested areas and make different noises from the usual ones you're used to hearing. thanks... just that i was travelling at 80kmh on lornie road and i have checked it's not my timing belt that making the sounds yep, maybe it's crickets after all... never like that stretch at night as it produces all sorts of chirping, whistling, crying noises in the dark... anyway talking about misunderstood sounds (offtopic), i came across "baby" crying under my void deck, tot it was an abandoned baby, only to turned out to be a kitten (super similar cries) another time during NS at a range... while we were picking up cartridges after shooting, we heard a woman laughing loud and clear... where got women in a range? we had to console ourselves that it was a bird... that mystery was never solved though.. maybe my hearing is that bad... Ytp2000 Clutched May 3, 2010 Share May 3, 2010 This happened to me and my wife 4 years back in Genting. It's ours very 1st trip to genting. My wife and I really enjoy the indoor rides so much that we played until almost midnight. As it was thursday night, there wasn't much people around when we heading back to our hotel room. When i entered our hotel room, i can feel that there is somebody inside our room. so straight away, i check inside the wardrobe, behind the curtain and the toliet shower curtain and there wasn't anybody..... (normally, after room service, the staff will pull the shower curtain to cover the bathtub.) Before i walk out of the toliet, I push the shower curtain to one side. After some drinks and rest, my wife and I go to bath together. After the bath, we quickly get ourselves dry out and head in to the warm and comfortable bed as it was already 2am. When i was about to off the light, my wife stop me. I told her, not to worry, as there are nobody else inside the room except 2 of us. She replied back, u never know, it's better we leave the toliet and main entrance lights on. Next day, when we were at the hotel main lobby ready for check out, my wife told me what she had encounter inside the toliet while we were bathing. I was shock and stun after heard her encounter. She say, "When she was squatting down washing herself, she saw a pair of slighty grey leg expose underneath the shower curtain. she was very sure there wasn't anybody behind the shower curtain as she saw me push the curtain to one side earlier on." She blinks here eyes many times hoping that when she open her eyes the pair of leg will disappear. But the pair of leg were still there. She was so frighten and almost want to scream out but she control her fear. As she worried that the ghost will realise that we know it exist in the hotel room. And it will come out to disturb us throughout the whole night. After these incident, we had went back to Genting for 3 times but stay in other hotels. The fourth time we visited genting, we decided to try out that hotel again. But these time round, we chosen the hotel room that is facing the mountain and the theme park. Not the one that has it window facing to opposite hotel room.
Scion Turbocharged May 3, 2010 Share May 3, 2010 i'm not the superstitious type but i always knock on the hotel room door before i enter... to me its a friendly gesture to tell any "one" inside that i just stay for a few days (usually i'm alone in biz trips) so good so far... no weird encounters in malaysia, thailand, taiwan and china so far... anyone has the same taboo as me?
