CNA News : Marina Bay Sands get casino licence from CRA

 

SINGAPORE : The Casino Regulatory Authority of Singapore has issued a casino licence to Marina Bay Sands.

 

In a brief statement on its website, the authority said the casino operator must ensure that it remains suitable to manage and operate a casino in accordance with Section 45 of the Casino Control Act.

 

Marina Bay Sands is due to open its doors on Tuesday.

 

Staff at the integrated resort are working round the clock, gearing up for the preview opening.

 

It ran simulation exercises involving 2,000 guests last week to test out its system.

 

The integrated resort said its hotel rooms, dozens of stores, part of the exhibition and convention centre as well as some restaurants and bars will be open.

the poor biz in geylang hawker is due to major police raids in that area lah.... who still dare to go there??

 

i can safely say that 80% of their biz comes from those who go there for chicken callings. and also those chickens need to eat right?

 

so now, due to police raids, no chickens and no customers. of coz the food biz is affected lah!!

The drinks stall uncle told me the reason and says he also goes to the casino 2x a week to gamble. Lol

Customers riled after MBS declines to honour mispriced room rates

 

SINGAPORE: It was a deal too good to be true - a deluxe room at the five-star Marina Bay Sands (MBS) hotel for S$62.70 a night. 

 

Joel Tan Jun Rong, 25, made a booking for the room at the hotel on Nov 28, intending to stay there with friends from the US for a week from Mar 31 to Apr 7 next year. He received a confirmation shortly after booking the room on the hotel's website, reflecting a total price of just S$516.70, including taxes. 

 

While the price of the room was even cheaper than many budget accommodation options in Singapore, Mr Tan said he assumed it was a promotion as he made the booking on Cyber Monday. 

 

A week later, however, the hotel emailed him to say that there had been an error on its online booking page. It would not be able to proceed with the reservation at the rate he booked at.

 

If he agreed to pay the full price of S$450 per night, he could keep the reservation. As a "gesture of good will", the hotel offered him S$100 off the final bill if he took this option. But if he failed to confirm the booking at the new price within seven days, his reservation would be considered cancelled and no charges would be made to his credit card.

There was some previous case about this kind of mistake for some IT products, there is a valid contract but question is whether it can be set aside for the mistake.

 

Believe the court here sided with the company then

Stayed there one night before. Make reservation online and upon checking in, concierge told us the room not available. If want to stay in similar room, must top up $250. Go fly kite, not staying there anymore. Honestly, a very overrated hotel.

Have not stayed there before but have been there for food and went up to see Sky Park and Infinity Pool. Too many people and infrastructure does not seem to be able to cope with the crowd.

 

Yes, its overrated to me too and not value for money.

That pool is not for swimming one. Just for people who like to take selfies.

 

Anyways, won't pay money to stay there lor. Too noisy and crowded. Mainly PRC too. Experience at The Rise is so so nia. Think if wanna pay for buffet I rather go The Line.
