Grix17 Clutched April 30, 2010 Share April 30, 2010 Nowadays, ppl driving style different liao. Should practice defensive driving and waiting till the car go to another lane. Defensive driving also require you to anticipate other ppl's driving behaviour if you can see ahead of what he/she is heading to as well. That few seconds gain by assuming you can proceed first will not benefit you that much in your whole lifetime. Totally agreed. I can't say I don't horn, but certainly the one who gets it really deserved it. With some experience, we should be able to identify aggressive drivers as well as troublesome spots on the road, and, of course, stay clear of them. Defensive driving is the key to harmonious driving and maybe fewer accidents. Some people just tend to treat the road like a racetrack, while some treat it like strolling in the park. Whatever the case, it's best to avoid incidents by driving courteously. ↡ Advertisement
Kiadaw 6th Gear April 30, 2010 Share April 30, 2010 agree... it may be sarcastic... but i also apologise for that horn matter.. btw, i gradually increase my speed to close up the gap.. if not, i happy happy leave the gap there... sure other ppl horn me.. how then? i also will not happy too.. so to avoid being slow to move up n being horn at.. i move up lo... all tis i still in my own lane. in view of traffic courtesy.. n cautious.. one mistake by others may lead u to 'anything' .. after the 1st n 2nd time.. i horn.. its for my safety too. You so sure? I have been driving without "close gap" concept, & never once was I horn. I am not saying you can't accerate to speed limit or anything. In fact its correct that you should drive faster to pick up clear traffic speed, but never to close gap with the car in front. Just be reminder to do it gradually and be concious of other road users as well. Also, have you never in your driving experience, where you wanted to switch lane, but can't as the driver from the other lane speed up to "close the gap"...never? Don't you feel frastated when that happen? I agree, if you are in your lane, "touch wood", if any thing happen, it will be the other party fault. But the point is not about who is right or wrong in accident, but rather, avoiding accident, if possible. Cheers.

Mindbox33 1st Gear April 30, 2010 Author Share April 30, 2010 You are assuming other ppl will horn you when you dont SPEED UP. That is what you think. For your safety, you should be more cautious of what he will do next. No point to horn. I did like what you did before. But frankly, to horn in this case by me is to show "displeasure" to the car in front. nothing much. I dont give honourable excuse of it. And by whatever reason you are given to horn at that time, it will only make the matter worse. agree... will exercise more caution towards tis type of drivers

Cheers. i really dun know how to tell u abt how long tis 'gap'.. nvm. each got his own theory n way of driving. for ur 2nd sentence, i think u referring to another scenario wic is not wat i am talking now. i am not moving up to stop other from him from cutting into my lane. its the driver in front of me weaving in n out as n when he like.. in fact, i LET cut back in again 2 times, i did not burst up to stop him from coming in. anyway, tks for ur feedback.. i also learnt fr tis incident.
