So_nice 6th Gear April 23, 2010 Share April 23, 2010 i'm currently on falken ze912 tyres as it came wif my 2nd hand vios..went to stamford tyres yesterday and was told tat per piece was ard $78 for 195/50/15..they seems to be pretty good tyres but i cant gauge as they already used when i got them. i was thinking of changing back to ze912 however it seems the review isnt too fantastic. i'm more concern abt the followings: 1. handling in wet conditions 2. thread wear rate comparing ze912 and eagle f1, which is a better buy? cuz they are ard the same price. as for re001 vs s-drive, i posted previously but not much replies..i understand they are in the region of $110-$120/pc and i haf good experience wif re001 previously. i dun drive hard these days as i'm driving an AT car nw..would it be an overkill to buy re001/s-drive? for ur inputs! :) ↡ Advertisement
Shorty Turbocharged April 23, 2010 Share April 23, 2010 912 i tink can get at 70. for normal usage i guess they r gd enuf. i used them n they served me well. only mayb noise on the high side.
Antisocial April 23, 2010 Share April 23, 2010 extra $40 a pc equals to extra $160 in total. if you can live with the price just buy anything you like
Kspchew 2nd Gear April 23, 2010 Share April 23, 2010 If you dont' chiong, ze912 is sufficiently enough in wet / dry conditions. Wear rate is good at 480 (i think) Downside is noise and its a little hard since the sidewall is stiffer
Dj_spike 2nd Gear April 23, 2010 Share April 23, 2010 I juz changed to s drive yest at Soh Bros.... 15" for 100 bucks a piece... made in Japan... as quiet as aspec db.. grip much better

Shorty Turbocharged April 23, 2010 Share April 23, 2010 i would say 912 is sufficient for normal users. driven at more den allowed speed at NSHW. at moments in rain. gd enuf. if mostly in spore, i would more then gd enuf. save the money for something else. but of cos if money is of no issue, buy the one that will set ur mind at ease. Tigershark1976 Turbocharged April 23, 2010 Share April 23, 2010 Im a happy user of 912. so far, i dont have problem using it in SG road, i nvr had any problem driving it below 110km/hr during rain. However, anything above that... i really cant comment.
Dj_spike 2nd Gear April 23, 2010 Share April 23, 2010 -edited- sry c--k eye didnt see ur content properly.. hows ur s-drive? 100/pc sounds good! 100/pc is value for money i believe... in terms of grip, as per compared to my prev aspec db, i am able to corner +5km faster.... Although i'm not sure how much the others in ur list cost, i'm quite sure they cost more

Versatile 1st Gear April 23, 2010 Share April 23, 2010 RE001 is a very good tire. If you don't mind the price, i would encourage you to get it. For me, i don't mind paying for expensive tire if they serve my purpose and safety aspect.
Verve 1st Gear April 23, 2010 Share April 23, 2010 may i suggest a little off point i can see that u dont need a top notch performance tyre but would still like good grippy tires at a nice price. how about u forget the branding and try either accelera tyres or federal 595, there are raving reviews for the 595 and i think only around 85 per pc or thereabouts. Fishman 1st Gear April 23, 2010 Share April 23, 2010 or federal 595, Federal the Taiwanese brand? Sorry, but I wouldn't recommend it . Bad personal experience - it got uneven wear causing bad vibration just after 4 months and had to be replaced - even my mechanic who initially recommended it also regretted. Now I am on ze912 and am very happy. No problem whatsoever.

Byond 1st Gear April 24, 2010 Share April 24, 2010 good tyres are never an overkill as they are the only contact on the road i tried F1, RE001 and S drive before F1 - very noisy, cheap and good. Cheapest of this 3...wear rate the lowest S drive - less noiser than F1, good value for its price. However, more ex than F1 = should be lost to f1 but better than re001 RE001 - LEast noisy. very grippy tyres, but most pricey of the 3 i am on my 2nd sets of RE001 never regret buying these tyres.... ↡ Advertisement
