Twincharged

I would have to leave at least an hour earlier for work and reach home about 1 hour later. So everyday got extra 2 hours of sleep or free time since I had a car. Started excercising more because with car I can easily bring my bicycle to ecp to cycle. Because of that I lost alot of weight since I had a car.

Huge difference!

By car, i reach office in 15 mins. By public transport 50 mins + sweat like hell.

Plus in a pack MRT, duno why most women thinks and acts as if all men is out to molest them!!! So they use bags to block or bang ppl and give stern stares at the slightest of contact. [shakehead][sweatdrop]

My wife will be home very late (mid night when she do afternoon shift.) and we will likely not have 2 kids as both of us will be too tired after all the travelling [lipsrsealed]

very different because

1) I will have difficulty meeting my frens at remote places for "root beer"...

2) When I bring go dinner with my folks...will be more troublesome...

3) Cannot anytime go to beach jogging/cycling anymore...

4) Cannot anytime want to go where than go where already....

5) My fate of how soon I can reach a place does not lies only the traffic condition but now also include the public transport planning...

6) I cannot drive to JB and have short weekend getaway in malaysia at last min anymore....

7) I need to carry more stuff with my in my bag if my personal storage mobile is not longer there...

8) Go ICT in Tuas from Sengkang will become a nightmare...but ok lar...only maybe once every two years...

etc etc etc

For me, if i give up my car:

1. No east coast beach walk after dinner with wife, even though i stay relatively near east coast but not within short walking distance.

2. No more convenience of meeting my friends anywhere, anytime.

3. No more eat anything, anyplace, anytime.

4. Got to squeeze with every1 on public transport.. Which i am going thru now.. As i was on new job training for 6 weeks at various places in town, can't buy season parking n had to take mrt everyday. Agree that its fast getting from east to town, but the squeeze in the train makes me feel that every cents i paid for my car is bloody worth it. There is absolutely no way i am gonna pack myself like sardine everyday for the next 20-30 years just to save a couple of hundreds per month.

If I sold my car :

a. I can't get Car allowance from company - which kinda subsidise 70% of my costs.

b. I can't fetch my kids to school (3 of them) all in the morning. and had to pay around $400/mth for mostly 1 way trip school bus (coming back trip they will miss it due to CCA and school activities) - now they just come home by public bus and 1 kid get to lopang from neighbour's car home.

c. No more : Hello-huh-?-go-Holland-Village-now-?-OK...

d. all my children tuition classes, swimming, tennis, piano lessons must be around my neighbourhood walking distance

If you see above, I think own a car save time and money... Its a Need...

Lose lots of sleeping time. Not say got a lot now.

Wont even meet my gf more than 1x/wk. Now already 1-2x/wk.

Be anti-social Hermit.

Cannot eat drive-thru Macdonalds when just want to have a quick bite [laugh]

All my clothes will be super sweat-stained cos i can't tolerate heat

Public transport is fine. Just bit tiring to take it esp if u dun live near MRT

If u live beside MRT say within 5mins walk, actually life isn't too bad. Now with so many MRT stations.

For me, car is a need currently. Just by the time saved/day.

If i sell my car,

1) I cannot send/fetch my gal(age 5) to/from her kindergarten, will have to change her school to walking dist from my place.

2) My wife will have to walk or take bus instead of driving to market to do her marketing on weekend.

3) We have to take bus/cab on Sat to bring my elder gal to her music and english classes.

4) My mum, maid and 2nd kid(age 3) will have to take bus/cab to and from my place in Punggol to my parents' place in Yishun from Mon to Fri.

5) Cannot bring my kids to interesting places like goat farm, fish farm, kids kampong etc. Have to restrict to places accessible by bus or MRT only.

6) When in emergency case like kids falling sick, have to depend on cab liao.

So having a car really save time and bring convenience to family especially those with kids.
