Unlike other products like Hurricane which are priced the same throughout all the outlets, I think K&N stuff are priced differently at the various retailers.

From my understanding, Speedworks' prices are one of the more competitive ones as compared to some other shops.

You might want to give Mr Loo a call to find out further.

i thought speedworks died... well at least it look like it was dying some time ago...

Been using K&N drop-in with CAI for my ride for 1 1/2 years and so far, love the pickup and sound. But the strange thing is every month i took out the filter and check, there is no dirt stuck in the filter which worries me dust has been going in my engine. But so far i nv oil it as i been told that oiling is optional. U can always try getting it from freelancer. i got mine from them at $65 during my purchase. 100% original [cool]

Zyrofillica, As far as I know, it can accommodate only the drop-in air filters without modification.

Thanks Yuan for the advice... I will remember that. [cool]

Hi, I was using Champion Air Filter (drop in but it is a 2 layer type). Can immediately felt the different in smoothness and power because the old stock filter was already almost 4 years.

However, the FC had worsen from 13 to 14km per lit to about 10 km per l only.

It was shocking as I thought all these filter shd improve fuel efficiency and thus getting better FC.

So just change to Hurricane to see whether FC will improve or not and still getting the smoothness.

Bros out there, pls enlighten me or share with us ur experience. Thank you

There was a report I came across previously that showed Hurricane's filtration wasn't too good though you get more airflow.

K&N always comes pre-oiled. It is not effective and dangerous to your engine without oiling. It has been used by almost all compeitors in the Paris-Dakar rally, travelling thousands of kilometeres thru dusty roads and deserts. Now thats tough on air filters.

An auto magazine in the UK a few years ago published a test of several after-market air filters and K&N came up 2nd in air flow and tops on filtration. The stainless steel air mesh type was somewhere in the lower part of the list for flitration and not at the top for airflow. Cant remember the name but a Jap K&N look alike using same cotton gauze-oil filter (blue color) was top in both filtration and air flow.

I used K&N for more than 10 years in several cars over those years and had no problem, some power gain but mostly in acceleration where breathing is imporatnt.

The link above explains lots.

I dun work for or sell K&N filters... [:)]
