Introz Clutched April 22, 2010 Share April 22, 2010 Just keeps driving. You will gets better. My wife, got her license in Oct last year. Use to take 5 minutes to park with 3 consecutive empty lots. Now, can park with 1 reverse into a single lot. During the learning, pick up a few scratches. Heart pain, but no big deal la. Move on. Direction awareness. 0-100 scale, she maybe score 10. She still need to switch on GPS when going home. Even with GPS, she could still miss a turn and the son and maid have to remind her. But GPS really helps a lot. Now, on weekend, she is dating my sis to go Orchard shopping. No need to beg me already. So, you are not alone. Just give yourself more practices. . . Peppermint Neutral Newbie April 22, 2010 Author Share April 22, 2010 Yes i did, went to google map website to see how the roads look like. Indeed very useful and that's where i decided to go by AYE instead of PIE because i reaslised it's slightly nearer to my place. But now, my husband said if go changi airport, he will go by AYE but when returning home, he will take PIE because most people head towards Tuas via AYE. Will continue to practise during super non peak hours first
Peppermint Neutral Newbie April 22, 2010 Author Share April 22, 2010 I'm ashamed to say this but this thought did come to my mind when i thought i was lost. I was pretty convinced i'm driving the wrong way so i was thinking what to do...think think think, then realised actually heading towards the correct direction. Then when i was finally approaching the airport, i stuck to the left lane as advised by one of the bros here and somehow, managed to enter the correct carpark. Was abit confused because the carparks are named as 3A and 3B. Felt damn sotong.
Peppermint Neutral Newbie April 22, 2010 Author Share April 22, 2010 Hey, my husband said the same thing. He said i really need a GPS to get started thou he would prefer not to as he said i would over-rely on GPS. For now, i only know how to go to my parents', my in-laws' place and Jurong Point! Now can add T3 to the my limited list

Throttle2 Supersonic April 22, 2010 Share April 22, 2010 i assume u are very pro even when u drive for the first time? let people have exprience lah.. from exprience people can drive better Yes, your assumption is right. I was very pro, right from the start. God given talent. During learner days, instructor teach once, and i'm done learning. Instructor say i drive too steadily for first timer. Day of the test, he said that I definitely wont pass becos i only went thru the circuit once, not familiar enough. I told him that i will definitely pass if base on merits alone. and I did. stuff his mouth with his own words. Anyway that was 17 years ago. no I'm not superman but my psychomotor capabilities, observation abilities, sharp senses are above that of the normal average human being. Clinically tested and proven. . Yes I agree experience is important. but for TS, she needs retraining first before experience. putting her on the roads is like allowing ah bengs the right the bear arms, accident waiting to happen. so I suggest, let an experienced driver guide her at least a few times so that she can at the very least be realistically road worthy . Yes experience is one thing

2BDriver Hypersonic April 22, 2010 Share April 22, 2010 Dear all, thanks for all the advises! I did safely made my way to T3 in one piece Did a few rounds in at the carpark before i drove off. Left at 4.30am via AYE, no traffic until i was approaching the airport. My husband is a driver thru & thru, no matter what, he'll prefer to drive. Went home via PIE, traffic not so bad as it was still early. I did consider taking a cab but makes no sense spending $80...i thought driving there would be cheaper Husband was pleasantly surprised & he LOL when i dangle his car keys in front of him. I'm glad i made the effort to overcome my fear of driving *woohoo* My wife pick me at Changi Airport and she always Dangle My Credit Card Bill with cramped face, she is not so glad that I've made any efforts to overcome my fear of company sales diving south *woohoo*

Peppermint Neutral Newbie April 22, 2010 Author Share April 22, 2010 I know it's a simple question but i really really hardly drive or even take the cabs lor. I only take the buses or mrt. If not for the fact that taking cab to changi airport at 5am then back to jurong is so expensive, i would have taken one anytime

Ranztan Neutral Newbie April 22, 2010 Share April 22, 2010 Hi hi all , I'm new here and sorry to tag along this thread , but the system says I have less than 25 posts so I can't start a new thread . I'm also a newbie driver and recently bought a second hand Mitsubishi Colt 1.5A . Can I know whether is it normal that the Colt does not automatically start moving slowly when I have already put it in D (drive) mode and have removed my foot from the brake . It only moves when I step on the accelerator . Is it a safety feature or is there something wrong with the gear box ? But otherwise , all else is quite smooth and okay . Checked with the 2nd hand car dealer he said it is okay but I juz wanna be sure . Please please advise . Thank you all many many ...

Leggt Clutched April 23, 2010 Share April 23, 2010 First, check three things:- 1. Handbrake released 2. Inclination of the ground, ie slope 3. Idle RPM at 1200-1500 Otherwise, send to a mechanic to run a routine check or time for a good service. Not a big issue. ↡ Advertisement
