Hi

 

Very embarrassing to be posting this but can i ask, if i wish to drive to Changi Airport, is there any sign or stuff to look out for? I'm going to T3 and have the worst sense of direction. I've not driven for more than a year already :wacko: I'm driving there from Jurong West. I'm scared of driving into the wrong lanes, later end up cannot find the carpark. Also, will the carpark be very crowded around 5am? My parking skill is almost non-existent, will be parking as far away from other cars as possible :ph34r:

just take PIE Changi and when you reaches Changi aiport...look out on the road which indicate T1,T2 or T3....can never miss....drive slow on the left land and take your time to check it out...

I've never had problems finding parking at T3 carpark at any time apart from weekends.

 

Keep left and don't go too fast, but be careful of the long line of taxis which usually queue on the left lane as well and be prepared that some of them might swing out quite quickly without much warning.

just follow the sign towards changi airport in PIE...slow and steady...keep to the left and don't road hog..you will be fine....

I have another question. Do i have to readjust the side mirrors? The car is hardly driven by me and i'm not sure if i have to adjust the side mirrors. If i have to, what should i be seeing so that i know the side mirrors are in the correct positions?? :blink: Sorry for all these boliao questions [knife]

Don't worry, I always feel its better to ask than to act smart and pretend to know, then get into trouble when you realize the situation is more than you expected!

 

Yes, certainly you should. Adjust the side and rear view mirrors so that you have a good view of the surrounding traffic, and adjust the seat such that you can comfortably reach and step on the pedals with legs bent very slightly. Take your time to do all these and only move off once you're completely comfortable and are sure you can get a good view in your mirrors.

Wow. Perhaps you need to drive more.

 

As some have mentioned above, to go Changi Airport, just follow the signs that say Changi Airport. There is plenty of parking at T3, but you must keep a lookout for the entry (it is at the left, so keep left).

 

Yes it is preferable that you adjust the mirrors for proper rearward vision. Try to adjust so that you can see as much as possible. It's very hard to tell you over the internet, because it's something that is really up to the individual.

Driving also involves a lot of confidence (in Singapore, perhaps we call it thick skin). As long as you do the right thing, and you know you are doing the right thing, it basically doesn't matter how other people react.

If you're starting from Jurong, I would actually suggest you use AYE instead if it's near you. As PIE you will need to exit a slip road merging into ECP (Changi Airport) at e ending part of route. If not alert, you might be heading back to ECP (City) instead. To me, AYE > ECP more straight forward, just head straight all e way.

 

Just keep a lookout for taxis, make sure you don't head into budget terminal as it's just an exit earlier than T3. Overall, parking at T3 not too hard, less complicated than T1 carpark.

I mean, i always kenna [furious] by my husband, so far quite lucky, have not met any strangers who wanted to beat me up [lipsrsealed] Will practise for a while at the carpark later!

Hmmm...I'm sorry but i'm also not sure whether PIE or AYE is nearer to me. I do know when i take cabs, they usually go via PIE. I stay near to Pioneer mrt so i guess PIE is nearer :blink: Thanks, i will look out for ECP (Changi Airport). I know there are signs i can look out for but i'm already not steady when it comes to driving, i feel scared even when i take my eyes off the road for a second.

Yes, try to take the AYE to ECP if possible. Once you get to ECP at the airport, keep left and you will see the entrance to T3 after the big overhead bridge(which is a bridge for planes to pass over the highway). Once you turn into the left exit to T3, take the 2nd last right lane (aka lane 2) and keep going forward until you see the carpark entrance sign. Past the carpark gantry, keep left and head for basement 2 or even basement 3 if you're really afraid to park next to other cars.

 

Just take note of the lane markings in the carpark, you don't want to go against traffic flow and have somebody speeding head-on into you cos early in the morning, there tends to be speedsters around as they think there're no other cars. Have fun.

No prob. I assume you'll be fetching your husband from the airport (else you'd probably get him to drive). Don't have to leave TOO early, not much traffic at that hour. Plus as long as you can read English, you'll find your way just fine.

 

BTW, sorry, I meant to say that the entrance to T3 is BEFORE the big overhead bridge which you can see looming up ahead. After and you'll be heading to T1. Apologies.
