Celicagt42010 Neutral Newbie April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 I don't know but I don't think the Veyron can handle well given its weight.
Watwheels Supersonic April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 Not a fair comment IMO. I had watched the interview with the CEO and engineers on why they wanted to build a car such as the Veyron. Their focus was to build the first 1000hp production car. There were many challenges when building this car. And no car maker had done a 1000hp production car before. Things like tires have to be custom design to handle the power and max speed. Dan there's the engine cooling system, a certain % of the 1000hp is needed to cool the massive heat produced. That's why it can achieve near 1000hp and not exactly that amount. The gigantic brakes to stop the car and air ducts to quickly cool them etc etc. It's ugly cos they are not trying to build the most beautiful car but for aerodynamic needs to reduce drag at high speeds of above 300km/hr. I think they have reached their goal on what they wanted on a car and overcome the challenges they had set out for themselves. McLaren's focus is different and so is their approach on building super sports cars. Like most British sports car makers their focus is build light weight power/weight ratio to give outstanding performance. For sure their super car can get off the line faster and weighs lighter but can they overcome the technical challenges of building a 1000hp super car? I'm sure McLaren does not want to come in 2nd for building one but doesn't Ron Dennis sound like sour grapes?
Watwheels Supersonic April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 I know some ppl will com in and say there are over 1000hp Skylines & Supras out there but these are zhgned cars. The tuners can only take credit for the modifications made to an existing car. They can't take credit for building the car from scratch hence the title "1000hp production car". Hermitage 1st Gear April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 Sounds like he's jealous to me! Jealous that he didn't think of the idea first. The Veyron was a groundbreaking hypercar on many counts...
Xdeatel Neutral Newbie April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 I would defintely buy a Buggati Veyron if i had the money, its not about the exterior looks, its the prestige you get out of owning such a rare and fast car. I feel that Buggati Veyron is a next-level technology, comparable to the Concorde.
Beachboys Clutched April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 Mclaren supercar is designed to be lightweight, while Buggati still comes with all the leather n audio n frills... If the Veyron was stripped to create a 'lightweight race' version, then the comparism may be more fair~
1l0v3you Clutched April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 wtf it's the fastest car in the world and this guy is saying he could not find anything about it that makes him feel good. i think he's being jealous too. no matter what he says about the veyron, it is still a bugatti that has an awesome 1k horsepower. ugly nvm. to me, it is not ugly but not beautiful. still lose lamborghini in terms of design haha. anyway, the people who buy this car are probably looking for substance and not style. Xdeatel Neutral Newbie April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 Concorde no more in use cause of several accidents, but its said to be the fastest commercial plane (I may be wrong). Buggati is comparable to the Concorde as its one of the fastest road legal car ever produced.

Concorde is not commercially viable due to its high ticket price. In addition, Concorde is unable to comply with Euro rules on Emission & Sound. Mockngbrd Supersonic April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 even tho i think his comments sux.... i'd take the Mc F1 over the Veyron if i was given the chance... these 2 were built with different goals...
Hottunedcars Neutral Newbie April 14, 2010 Share April 14, 2010 i would get a F1 instead of a Veyron if I had the money for either. For me it looks much better, i only what to see how the new F1 deals with the Veyron and if it is faster.

Then your date has to hold on to the rear spoiler while you zoom around. And then suddenly got rain and both you and your date are soaked (if your date hasnt fell off your ride yet) ↡ Advertisement
