BAD Services At Nanyang Signs

in our business... its not ALL about 'customer is always right' or 'i am a paying customer-you better serve me well'.

in our business, its not about bringing in products and selling to customer like in NTUC.

in our business, we buy raw material, put in time effort blood sweat and sleepless nights to get an order done.

some customers just don understand the fact that time=money...they more difficult the process = the more time spent = the more the customers will have to pay.

some also dont understand that there are only 24hours a day and 7 days a week out of which 9 hours are working hours and 5.5 days are workdays.

most customers expect us to be 'magicians' = order now=collect now mindset....worse....not even willing to pay a little more to cover my worker's OT pay...

forgive us, sometimes we are just too maxed out to even take a s--t in the toilet!

well....i wish its was that simple...

Just curious where is your shop? I think the good thing that comes out of this thread is....now I know who I should or should not go to when I need to make signs.

As a paying customers, I pay and you deliver. If you can deliver within my expectations, good and fine and we have a deal. If you can't, tell me straight and life goes on for all of us. There are many signs shop around, and you will have many other customers. We are not indispensible to each other.

Enough said, customers being customers...we have the rights to complain about bad services. When someone tells me that he is "just too maxed out to even take a s--t in the toilet!", I will avoid his or her services/shop for sure.

hmmm...well...

frankly...i will be lying if i say 'its not about the money'

in Singapore, everything is about MONEY!!

sad but true...it customers are not willing to pay the price we quoted...all we can do is to give them more discounts....if still cannot....then i am sure they can always find some place cheaper then us if they search hard enough...i will always give my best price...and its really OK for us to skip a customer....we do not have to take ALL orders...and we wont force or sales-talk customers into ordering from us...

if customers order from us...its their choice-they believe in us-they are satisfied with the price we propose...

all we can do is give them our best.

if still not satisfied....then.... how?

never ending story right?

there must be a line drawn in business...

who takes business without profit?

well...

cant please everyone.

Precisely, as you said, both meet each other's expectation, deal, otherwise no deal. Nothing right or wrong. So, you can't say it's bad service when they can't reply in time. Just bring your business elsewhere laa...

Turbocharged

i have dealt with many suppliers before...

all along only huge companies or companies in niche industries can afford to choose their customers, whether it's local, US or china companies...

good luck if u insist it your way...

its true...

you always hear customer's side of the complains....

do you ever hear companies complain as often?

oh well....all i can say is....it takes 2 hands to clap....

sometimes giving our best is just not enough....

Companies seldom complain publicly about customer publicly because of the PR backlash

that might hurt business, reputation.

Some SMEs can afford to 'complain' because of the risk of PR backlash and reputation is negligible.

They can simply stop at an apology and promise to try harder to improve.

But no. The pride of business owners also take precedence over professionalism

when making snide remarks after customer complain.

One can choose not to do business with unreasonable customers by more subtle means.

You are right, i really don't know much about your business and its economics.

But i do know 2 things as gleaned from your posts,

1) In your business, the attitude is " Not happy, go somewhere else.."

2) You are so busy that you can do without some customers, you can also choose customers..."Customers have the right to choose who they want to give their jobs, companies also have the right to choose their customers"

You know what, TS could be a customer from hell for all i know.

But from your posts, one thing is very clear to me. That is his complaint about bad service at your shop is probably valid, since your basic motto is " not happy.. go somewhere else" It seems like you are in a great business, since even basic service attitude is not needed for your business to experience such high demand!

If this thread becomes super hot, you may actually have time to take a s--t.

Perhaps that is your intention all along, who knows.

this is what i am talking about.

how you wanna 'decode' what i type is up to you.

its my way of 'explaining' the situation: picking up the phone and dialing the numbers for the customer is easier then for us to search for the customers number in the large stack of our 'to do' list and blah blah blah....

you get the picture.

customers expect 'immediate' response from us when we have ten thousand emails to read and reply and ten thousand phone calls to answer and follow up.... heard of a 'QUEUE' before?

you try calling singapore poly clinics to make or change appointments, they never answer their phone calls for a start, you leave a message, they NEVER call you back. you try enquiring quotations from other suppliers/company....they either take more then 2 weeks to response or they do not response at all....in comparison...i don think we are that bad la, cummon man....

you try being in my type of service line (not like serving in a restaurant)....and then you come and make response to this.

you'll probably stand on my side! :)

well.... all i can say is that i cant please anyone...

:)

so what you are saying is I should make your job easier by calling you to remind you so that you can earn my money? How's that for customer service? Like what you said, everyone is busy in singapore.. but you are the only one with ten of thousands of mails to read and reply.... I would think that it's basic business etiquette if you did your DUE diligence to read thru the mails and reply.

In every line or industry, everyone strives to progress and be better so you should be comparing upwards toward service excellence and yet you are comparing yourself to a government non-profitable organisation and proudly declaring yourself to be much better than them! Bravo...

I may not come from service line but I do know what NOT to do...

and yes, you are right, you are not pleasing anyone.

When you go to a coffeeshop to order dinner....say you wait 30 mins...45 mins...then you go to ask the cook...is my dinner ready? The cook tells you..."Can wait wait, cannot wait go eat elswhere. I so busy I dont even have time to s--t! Your order is ready when its ready...take it or leave it".

I am sure you are fine with it and you will still wait for your dinner. I am sure when your friends wanna have dinner, you will not tell them the cook hasn't s--t for a long time and you can wait there for a long time without knowing whether your order has been taken...let alone in the frying pan.

You are a great guy! FOr that I salute you!

OK, since you use this analogy. So say, after waiting for an hour, you start to show displeasure, which is understandable (I would also do the same) and the cook came out apologetic and tell you they can't deliver, not in the sh-t way you described. I think this is fine. Haven't you met such situation in famous chze char shop before? I did.... And does that mean that shop is bad all the time? Well, if you have the patience, can try at different timing. Anyway, the crucial part is how they handle the situation. It's still forgivable if they are apologetic about it, not the ai ciak mai suak attitude.
