Tamp giant as of this morning, the mfg date is now jul 18 newest. Yesterday still have august batch.

careful the Pureplus logo color seems somewhat different. the original pureplus logo  color  printing is darker. this one is lighter. i do noticed the difference hence stopped buying not sure if something is wrong.

 

I would think shell have standard in all this printing stuff. Maybe i am wrong. I have seen batches made in germany pureplus logo is printed darke which looks more genuine. This one looks more doubtful.

SHU is back in Giant tampines.

I used it in my stream since 2014.

Now with my new kia cerato, I'm more careful.

Label indicates made in Germany Hamburg.

Shelf life 4 years.

. I don't like the label on bottle, there's 1 or 2 pop out air bubble in each bottle.

. Pureplus non reflective logo

. No yellow dot code to authenticate.

 

Original from shell kiosk is $113, made in Hong Kong, with peel off yellow code, no bubble in label.

 

Only way to determine fake or not is to do lab test. Other then that, we can only look for visual tell tale sign.

 

To buy or not to buy (save cost) is up to individual...while my stream ran fine with Gaint SHU.

 

Given my observations above, I stop using megamart SHU so as not to void my 5 years warranty. Fyi

Actually these days its very easy to force GIANT to prove their SHU is genuine or not.  All is needed is someone go post on some FB pages, then their spokemen will have to come public.

 

Having said, I trust their SHU is genuine.

Actually, engine oil is not expensive. One drum of 200 litre industrial Mobil one 5w40 cost at most 600sgd. That’s is about $3/litre.

 

SHU is $50 for 4 litre? That’s is like $12.50/litre.

 

Think how much a ship engine would pay for oil change.

 

Even a small diesel generator needs 40litre to 200 litre of engine oil.
