Hammerhammer 1st Gear April 7, 2010 Share April 7, 2010 I went with my colleague to buy a car this morning. Paid $46800 for a 2007 July Mazda 3 luxury edition. Then after COE went up this afternoon he call my colleague says the loan approve but his boss not happy with the selling price. But he already sign the sales agreement and paid deposit. So he tell my friend to he will discuss with his boss about the issue. I check the agreement there is no clause that state selling can void the sales only buyer back out deposit will be forfeited. So my question is after GE money approve the loan if tomorrow he went down to sign the agreement how long they can disburse the money to the dealer? By right the loan approve my colleague sign the agreement and pay for the transfer, insurance, first installment can take car already right? Or still need to wait? Cos he scare the dealer not happy will do something nasty to the car before handing over. Please advice. ↡ Advertisement
Fedup-camry Neutral Newbie April 7, 2010 Share April 7, 2010 haha, dealer suay kuan if u play hard ball if the dealer, they no choice honour the deal but before they transfer the car to you, they may have taken out many genuine parts of the car without u knowing...unless u go down first thing in the morning with hard cash to force the deal and get the transfer done on the spot

What geniune parts so precious? They not so free lah. Replace new oem parts for old parts and find a place to store them? They won't gain anything this way. To the TS: Maybe ask them for 1-2k for breaching of contract. Since they can eat the deposit, when not wanting to buy, now they not wanting to sell, also must pay money what.. Lengendcf 1st Gear April 7, 2010 Share April 7, 2010 Maybe it's the salesman trying to pull a fast one without his boss' knowledge. This is called black eat black, since those 2nd hand cars dealers are all unscrupulous. Try to confront this with the boss. Even it is really the boss not happy, a contract signed is a contract signed.

Even it is really the boss not happy, a contract signed is a contract signed. Dun think so cos I am with him this morning. The sales guy advertise on SGCARMART and I am the one whom make contact. And when confirming the deal my colleague's wife notice there is a crack at the chrome part of the front grill. I ask him can replace or not. Then he says call boss and the boss is talking very loud to him on the phone says cannot cos the price is already very reasonable and ask him how come he go advertise on the SGCARMART at this price cos today bidding COE. But he seem to be eager to close the deal when my friend says nevermind about the small crack so give and take we settle on the price without discount. Not scare they swap parts but scare they do something like pouring sand into the engine or purposely make a ding or dent at the door. Then my colleague with end up with a problem car. As the agreement states that the car will be sold as-is condition with no warranty. But the car still got agent warranty until July this year. Hammerhammer 1st Gear April 7, 2010 Author Share April 7, 2010 Any info about the dealer? Do provide so that forumers can watch out. Thompson Used Car Lot 2 dunno the company name. The sales person is actually quite nice. And he also din ask my friend top up just tell him boss not happy selling this price cos the COE went up. And tell me colleague he will discuss with the boss and wait for other bank to reply. But already GE money is already approve. So he think they want to buy sometime. The thing is we went down and wait for him morning and he is late so we go jalan at another lot and the other sales person offer another car older but cheaper and he says anytime before 4pm if can conclude the deal then the price will stays. But after viewing the car at Lot 2 my colleague had decided to buy a newer car with agent warranty at a higher price. If in the first place the boss says dun sell then he would get the older car but now is the other side he never confirm so if they dun sell him the car he will have to fork out a few Ks more to buy the older car. Help1 1st Gear April 7, 2010 Share April 7, 2010 a deal is a deal, so if the COE drops, will the boss willing to reduce the price. Ask the SE to get his boss out, tell him in the face to honour the deal else refund the deposit. unless the selling price is a genuine mistake then can negotiate further
