i rented the giuletta (think it was a 2l diesel) in italy last year - the car was absolutely brilliant... its solid and comfortable ride, but when you flick the DNA setting to D, it really comes alive (sharp and torquey!).. only thing i hated bout the car was the auto start/stop on a manual - but you can always turn that off..

heck i really missed the 4 days and we drove from rome to venice via florence/milan... it was so good that i got a nice ticket for speeding on the autostrada... well worth it..

If it ever comes, go for the QV edition - saw the videos online.. quite a cracker!

in the showroom, i think there is the Mito and 159 only.

what i last heard is that the few 159 parked at Teban will be the last batch of 159 sold. so... 159 gg to be extinct loh..

is EA planning to wind down the business? we all know that Mito is not going to be their flagship model (its going to appeal to very niche group of customers only)...159 is somehow near the end to its life cycle liao at 5yrs old..they need to bring in a new model that is likely to cater to larger market segment and boost lagging sales. which other model is suitable other than the 147 replacement which has always been one of Alfa's main selling models?

if you are telling me the current batch of 159 is going to be the last batch and they only have Mito left apart from that, it looks to me that EA does not intend to be in the business for long...I know that car dealers are wary about bringing in new models in current car market with soaring COE, but the current market is as such and any model is going to be difficult to sell..if they think that way, might as well close down and dun sell..

Iam so surprised that Giulietta is launched in europe since 14-15 months ago and there is still no sign of it in SG..

dont forget the 159 replacement is nowhere in sight. hit a road bump due to the intention to launch in US, and the design is no where there yet.

Anyone know if the Giulietta is already in Spore? Cos I thought I saw 1 on the road but I can't find it in SGcarmart.

Perhaps its a showroom/ test drive unit??

Or you could've mistaken it for the MiTo.....

Read in the latest Auto Italia mag that JD Power UK customer satisfaction survey has Alfa placed 10th. Attributed from the appeal of Mito and Giuletta. So that looks promising fo the reliability stand point. I bet EA is preparing to make a big launch of the Giulietta soon next year making it the flagship model, it looks like an awesome alternative to the Golfs and Bravos out theres.

Giulia will probably come out in 2013 together with a SUV. Odd Alfa looking at SUV.

Yeah! The Golf looks so predictable and Germanic boring now. Hardly see as many of the Mk6 as the Mk5 these days.

The Bravo with pretty high pricing, and the lack of a true automatic gearbox, let alone a double-clutch gearbox [it has the option for a Dualogic- Automated Manual], dampens the sales as well.

Giuletta may be a easier sell here due to lower cat COE. if COE aside, they should bring in the 159 1.8 in auto. but Cat B COE is too high

It's a pity since only recently, Alfa introduced the Twin-Clutch-Transmission [TCT] on their Giuletta models, across the range.

Including the 1750 Turbo 235bhp version.

^_^
