FORMER Romanian diplomat Dr Silviu Ionescu was found on Wednesday to have caused the death of a pedestrian in a hit-and-run accident in Bukit Panjang last December.

State Coroner Victor Yeo said he was satisfied that the State had proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that the driver of the black Audi car involved in the Dec 15 accident was none other than Dr Ionescu, 49, then the charge d'affaires of the Romanian Embassy.

After a six-day inquiry into the death of Malaysian Tong Kok Wai, 30, an assistant manager, earlier this month , the coroner recorded a verdict of death due to the reckless act of a known person.

(edited)

wait for romanian government to respond

if they agree with coroner's ruling and punish the guy, justice has prevailed.

if they sit and do nothing, then its time for our SOTF to write new chapter in their history

romania govt will "punish" him with a fine, then our ppl will KPKB in forums, and our govt will issue a few more letters & statements to romania to KPKB, after a few mths later we will all "move on", and forget about this entire saga where a singaporean was murdered (yes, murdered) and his friend seriously injured by an irresponsible ******* (fill in with preferred expletives) who drank & drove.

New yesterday say If in Spore he will be charge with Culpable Homicide.

In Romania he will be charge with Manslaughter.

Maybe in Romania Manslaughter carries a Death Sentence ? and Spore C.H only 10 yrs jail ?

Hope Justice is served Jialat Jialat for him. If not on Earth, then the wrath of God.
