possible for my car

i tried and tested with my 45L tank, i used 41L and i chalk 998Km

now I am getting more

I average at least 24km/l now and the last was 25.3km/l

For sunny I really doubt

.Bro..I am driving a mt sunny and my best fc achieved was 15km/l, avg 13 to 14.x km/l.

noticed yr odo look different from sunny, sure that yr is a sunny?

seem that the dem oil u used played a major role, can share whete in singapore to change and at what cost?

I am interested to give it a try.

hahaha

interesting

Bro my sunny was mt too errrr previous car lah

Now this meter my current car on the avatar!

My previous MT EX saloon sunny was going at 11.2km/l at least. But I learnt alot of hypermilling techniques when I am on this car!

It might also come into good use for my next few cars to come!

:D

Less engine noise with SHELL octane 98, but mileage about same as SHELL octane 95, except slightly better acceleration

EssoMobil octane 98 about the same as their octane 95, except slightly better acceleration

Perhaps should try half tank of octane 92 mixed with half tank of octane 95.

oh

Maybe its true for the engine noise!

But I still recon that it will still not make my car go faster!

The mindset of people sometimes things that putting premium octane level petrol will make their car go faster which is not true!

Hey Good-Carbuyer, you know anything aout car compression ratio?

I think most cars can take 95 or 92 in Octane petrol in Singapore right?

In States they have 87 premium but in Singapore we have Premium 98.

Even 92 is of a higher grade then the states!

WOW bro...so whats your secret...and what is your ride...??? I already pour out everything... [laugh]

Oh yours a Prius.. good for you then... I think theres a new ride in town rite from Honda... eco car or something...???

Actually not much of a secret!

1) car must be serviced properly and regularly. i service every 12K to 15k!

2) Do not speed unnecessary, Speeding kills.

3) Do not tail gate, so this will enable you to stop gradually and not abruptly.

4) Try to cruise if possible.

5) when reaching traffic lights release the accelerator 200m before the lights, this is to anticipate the change in lights and stop slowly.

I also found out that if I drive easily not aggressively I tends to get to my place of destination faster!

I tried to give myself a 5 minutes earlier start so that I can take my time in driving. (my car is a cruise car not a fast car)

ultimately i get to my destination on time with no stress rather then getting on time with a lot of stress in and out of this and that lane.

Errrrr i sound like a traffic police now... I AM NOT!...

I am just a normal driver who things that i want to get to a place safe and sound.

Well regarding Honda, they have a few models of Hybrid. Honda Insight hybrid, Honda Civic hybrid and Honda CRZ Hybrid.

Maybe you can check out more on hybrids here

Interestingly Porsche is also having Hybrid...

wah.. seemed like you can tolerate longer servicing schedule... for myself I must go by 8000K... even if its meant to last 10000...

but for now I will only go for Idemitsu E.O... by far the best experience I got....

For my second full tank thou I'm currently at the 3/4 mark and the ODO reads out 214Km... so I gues I'll be getting around 800-850Km for the full tank this time round ... and by the looks of it I presume its gonna go down tank after tank...

I'm loving my ride nowadays...so much I started to wax lah polish la...buy new carpet lah... crazy...

Last time I really thought of selling it, I didn't even bother to wash for 2-3mths... now regret cos paint work very bad state... thinking of respray also end of this mth... :D

well bro,

you know what. its not that i can tolerate longer servicing.

what makes you think your car needs to service?

when the oil turns black?

Do you know now the oil will turn black after few hundreds or a thousand of kms?

thats the usage of the oil.

If the oil is not black, it means that the oil is not cleaning the parts and not lubricating the engine and cleaning off.

I normally use good oil that could take at least 10k.

you know bro, keeping your car clean will also maximize your mileage. The air flow of the car is better(i know its crap).

I clean my car weekly. wax monthly. even when it rains i also wash [dizzy] lol my concept is at least i wash off the dirt mah...

Oh yes but I really love the feeling of new E.O.... DAMN smooth man... [thumbsup]

Yes very true its not crap... just ask the airforce or people working at the aircraft maintenance , clean and smooth body makes the wind glides better on the surfaces... thats why now I every 3-4 days go wax on wax off... But mine too late...cannot get the new car effect already...

Agree with that theory. The truth is with the quieter engine, you accelerate to faster speed before we knew it. So we thought the petrol makes the car goes faster (laugh).

Compression ratio of 9.0, 9.5, 10.0 recommended to use octane 90, 95, 100, respectively according to some literatures. In practice many/most of us try yo use the cheapest octane that does not produce engine knocks. There is no higher garde among Octane 92, 87, 98, petrol. The different Octane ratings are the compression ratios applicable before engine knocks/piston slap occurs and wear out the engine sooner. Modern petrol engine uses injection system so can tolerate wider variation in the Octane ratings of petrol used. So many motorists like me will try to use the cheapest octane rating petrol hoping to save a little (may not be worth the efforts if travelling with low mileage). Hypermiling can be more effective instead

was always using spc(95) cos of better discount....

but had to do an urgent fill-up at esso(95) cos tank was very low.

after filling, immediately could feel engine quieter & acceleration smoother...

can anyone confirm if what I'm feeling is really true ??? [blush]

when i am low on fuel and the low fuel indicator light up, the system will feel less power

The strange thing is i always use spc 95, today after topping up with spc 92

i feel engine better acceleration. not sure if this have to do with certain features programmed into the system to lower the acceleration when low on fuel

the one nearest your house gives u best mileage... no need to go out of the way to top up

plus 1.

I never ever drive out of my way to top up. at least for my current ride.

last time diesel got one caltex at jln buroh with special discounts so bor pian... but when i got too busy i gave up and just pump SPC

now with my current ride is shell or SPC. seems like shell give slightly better mileage.

Im on Esso since dunno when n I like it. Started with my bikes n then all my cars.

Smoother? Faster? Quieter? Not sure but it gives me good mileage n so far never had any problems related to poor quality petrol. I mostly fill with JB petrol(97) but if need, I top up with 92 SPC) in SG just to get me past the big eyed customs man at the checkpoint.

BTW my Optra Estate Auto gets abt 13-14 km/lit which is very good for this car. [thumbsup]

Since u find Esso better, u might as well use it all the time. [nod]

Actually when u r low on fuel, u sud feel more power cos yr car is lighter. [laugh]

Some engines run better on low octane fuel cos it burns faster n in a low compression engine, u sud feel slightly more power.
