If you are technically inclined you may like to consider getting refurbished ones from USA or UK. Just need to install the maps (easy job) and upgrade the firmware yourself (may be a little confusing for newbies but not hard. Firmware don't upgrade also can use but may not have some functions).

 

Those are the real best deals. Especially now with strong Sing$ against the 2 currencies.

For TS, you can get it from Perfect Watch at the ground level of SLS. Look for Mr. Yan and u can tell him that I recommended you.

 

What you described is called modding to the change the firmware to the localised one depending on the model that one has. Not all models have localised version. I know there are people who modd their sets so that they have can Junction View (JCV) and Lane Assist. For those who are not technically inclined, I would not encourage modding the set as it is considered illegal and not sanctioned by Garmin. If you have a valid warranty, modding will void it. Besides, you run a risk of your set becoming a worthless paperweight if u modd it wrongly. I have seen cases of it and also some whose set, after modding, behaving erractically. If you want to have JCV and LA, I suggest buying a localised set then getting one from overseas.
