Sorry to hijack this thread.

Wondering if anyone here knows what's wrong with my lcd tv. It's a philips cineos model. Intermittently the screen goes off... Not often but when it happens, i need to switch off and on a couple of times before it's ok again.

It's coming to 4 years already and warranty is over. Actually this problem happen even during warranty period but the technician came and fix the problem... Now it's back again..

Anyone knows what's wrong?

waht's wrong? isnt it obvious ur tv spoilt already?.... [:p]

Haha.. So fast lcd tv spoil?

Another question: do shops accept trade-in for new lcd tv?

I think some shops like Audio house does but be careful of gimmicks.

I have 1 Sharp LCD TV in my bed room. Only recently whenever I watch Channel U for about 15~20 minutes; the signal will be interfered and become blue screen (only Channel U has this problem). However, I verify with another TV, there is good signal on Channel U.

[smallcry] If I switch off and on again in 20 min time, the signal is back again.

Is it my TV got problem with Channel U frequency? Cos I program another channel to Channel U freq also got this problem.

Cannot be signal reception problem rite as other channles no prob at all.

Any bro/ expert can advice?

Cannot be LCD problem if other channels is ok lah, most probably its just the signal strength of that cable point.

Yeah i heard abt Audio House. Not that reputable...

Heard Harvey Norman or Best Denki is better. But i doubt they accept trade-in.

LED TV are also LCD TVs

Only diff is that the backlight from LCD TV using tubes, while the backlight from LED TV using LED.

They are still using the same LCD panel screens.

Big different. Try touching LCD TV and LED TV. LCD is hot while LED TV is about our body temp.

LCD TV is good, can use it as heater during winter.... [laugh]

Picture quality wise, I can't tell the different la.

I have bought a new LCD using back the same cable. All channels are ok.

The old LCD TV moved to another room using another cable also cannot watch that particular Channel U program.

Your tv going blank can be due to many things:

1. TV itself

2. Cable going bad

3. Splitter going bad

4. Starhub signal dropped
