Did you go Tomika for a quote too?

I didn't check with tomika as their workshop is full, so I assumed I wouldn't get my car back within short time

I once went to tomika and they said my radiator fan spolit... So i seek a second opinion from another ac workshop. They said that its normal as the fan would not be on always. The fan will only on as and when needed..

Yes. If you drive on the expressway you will realise yr aircon will be colder cause more wind from outside will flow in. Whereas if u are in city driving the radiator fan will turn on and off.

i went there for a diagnosis previously , the staff told me my " grommets" on the compressor are missing and will cause "imbalance" when it rotates. " better do it fast if not jam ". quoted $280.

Went to another well known place in woodlands for an second opinion, turned out gas was low and one of the fans was old and not spinning. replaced and topped up gas for $150.

Shall share my experience with Tomika....

Chanced upon this thread when my Aircon was not cold...decide to visit tomika.

Diagnosed to be Aircon clutch and Relay issue...quote $220 before GST.

Job done, happy customer.

But the next day, realized car jerky, tot something wrong with what Tomika did...

They sprayed something into throttle body, said throttle body dirty..

Happy customer, left again...

Following 3 days were horror!

Car battery died EVERY single morning!

Called tomika to ask why like that...they said my battery old Liao, need to change...they service a lot of CnC car, so cannot be their fault or whatsoever..

And so, I changed my battery...brand new!

Still car battery died overnight for the next 2 nights consecutively...left car at my workshop...spent another 100-200 bucks...remove ICE, remove Power Charger, remove this, test that....and the diagnosis was....A Faulty Aircon relay!

Wtf!? Wasn't it brand new from Tomika?!

Am heading down today to reason with them...will be interesting to see how they defend themselves...

Stay tuned...

Update:

Well, drove down to Tomika at Ubi...spoke to Mr Lee (or Mr Li) about my problem with the problematic relay..and I got my refund back for that relay.

Although he did mention that my car was the first to have a reported a fault on a brand new relay....oh well, my luck I guess...

Paid additional $$ to rectify a problem that was supposed to be fixed...sheesh!

On a fair note, there was no fuss in the refund procedure...gentleman talk to identify the problem and he did say that the faulty Denso Relay will be sent back for checks. Ultimately, you just want a 100% working car...

A terrible experience, not with Tomika, but with the suey-ness, but I learnt alot about car components...lol!!

Good luck!
