Supercharged

I wonder if it'll sell if sold in singapore.

not unless Sg gov reduces or removes the punitive diesel tax.

well,

the thing about diesels is that though it produces less CO2 emissions, they still pollute a little bit more on NO2 compared to petrol burning equivalent engines....

however, remember the prior Euro 4 emission diesel tax structure? it was 6X the equivalent paid compared to petrol cc engines....

however, since Euro 4 was introduced, the gahmen reduced the tax to $1.25/cc...

with Euro 5 becoming the norm from 2012, it should be reduced further....

however, though diesels do save on fuel efficiency and air emission,

mainstream car manufacturers still have to refine diesel cars....and not many can still live with the diesel engine noise....just take a Sonata cab and you'll know what i mean...

petrol is still gonna be the norm in the future!!!

thought the issue is usually with the dust particle thing? something about that being too fine and it becoming harmful to health etc.

i'm not really an environmentalist,

dust particle is one of the things, but i think the major one is the emission of nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide emission....which can be up to 2times more than petrol equivalent....

at least this was what i garner the last time i read about the problems with diesel engines....

but seriously can you live with the diesel engine noise???

We can more effectively cut pollution by restricting those big exhaust, black soot (at bumper) protons from our Neighbor from coming to our "Tropical paradise Island".

If a car can pass the emission & drive in Europe, it should meet most specification anywhere in the world.
