Burnt clutch at high speed? My car always have this burnt smell after high rev or high speed above 120 or 130km/h.

Agree! Auto cars do have clutch. Not many ppl know this. Its b'coz its an auto car, tat's y got the smell. But sometimes its from air con compressor, as no more compressor oil inside. Only this 2 case. I will bet on a/c compressor oil. Juz go n change will know. sometime, sudden high rev will have this smell too.

My fren's car had this burn smell when the car's speed go past 120km/hr.I suspect its coming from the engine. You guys noe what seems to be the problem?? [confused] [confused] [confused]

I agree with some of the folk here.

1. Braking at high speed cause burnt smell.

-Rubbing of brake pad

Dun brake too often on downslope, for example going down genting highland, use low gear instead, or auto in S mode not D mode.

If you have sportronic or activematic etc. ( with the + - option) switch to low gear.

2. Tyre spin and rubbing on the road at high speed.

-The wheel rpm too fast causing tyre slippage rubbing due the initial of the car body.

-Hand brake is not down completely, it will lock your rear wheel causing the a pull at your rear while front wheel spin hard.

if you rev high... even smoke will come out from your front wheel, and your will lose your traction fast.

Release Hand brake completely

Accelerate gradually

3. Aircon smell

-Due to the poorly design of aircon to dispose the condensation of water. water start accumulating and cause foul smell everytime you start your engine.

-Perfume/car air fresheners degrade and within aircon/ inside the car causing foul smell...

Require to go workshop to do chemical wash.

stop putting perfume and car air freshener especially more than 1 year one.

4. Clutch Slippage

-Wear and tear... depending on the driver.

Change it

5. Engine oil

-Run in period?

-Mineral oil?

-Did you add funny engine oil additive?

-maybe have not warm-up enough.

Try other synthetic engine oil.

6. Aircon close loop

-Most Air temperature control is done by controlling Air mixing ratio.

which means, it mix outside air with cold air to get the temperature you set.

Therefore, even close loop still some air will leak in when it detect the car inside too cold.

So Tyre burnt smell also get in when air mixing is happening.

Try turn aircon to the lowest temperature.

I dunno if these help.

Good luck.
