Jonbummer Neutral Newbie March 12, 2010 Share March 12, 2010 remember F1 ? recalled who's Micheal Schumacher? who is driving for what team? what are the changes in the rules and regulations? Yes, the season had begun once again for 2010 ! and this year we start the races in Bahrain. it is all so exciting to be honest... because i do not think anyone can predict what is going to happen for the 1st race or the season! as Jenson Button said it 'this season will be electric' we had to believe the 2009 champion, don't we?!? i am really looking forward to this 1st race and can't wait what unfolds schedule from formula1.com: Practice 1 FRI 15:00 Practice 2 FRI 19:00 Practice 3 SAT 16:00 Qualifying SAT 19:00 Race SUN 20:00 and the pic/ table from wiki ↡ Advertisement

Jonbummer Neutral Newbie March 12, 2010 Author Share March 12, 2010 summary of rules changes for 2010 F1 from strait times online: Refuelling ban For the first time since 1993, cars must start with a full tank of fuel to last the entire race. Fuel tanks have increased in size from around 80 litres to 250 litres, and the cars have a longer wheelbase. Drivers will still have to stop for tyre changes, which could now take as little as three seconds and become a key strategic focus. Points The scoring system now looks more like that used in MotoGP, with the top 10 picking up points and the winner getting 25 rather than 10. The new system adopts a 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1 format. It is hoped the greater difference between podium positions will give drivers a greater incentive to overtake. Kers Teams have agreed not to use the Kinetic Energy Recovery System (Kers) that helped McLaren and Ferrari win races last season. The system, used to telling effect by Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen at Spa in Belgium last year, gave drivers a short extra burst of power at the push of a button. The minimum weight of cars has been raised from 605kg to 620kg. Tyres Drivers who reach the third and final phase of qualifying will have to start the race on the same set of tyres with which their grid time was set. This will introduce an additional strategic element to the race. Penalties A drive-through penalty imposed in the last five laps will now add 20 seconds, while a 10-second penalty will add 30 seconds. Previously, it was 25 seconds for both. Previously, drivers could complete up to three laps before serving a drive-through. It is now two laps, to minimise any advantage a driver can obtain before taking his punishment. Testing In-season testing remains banned but a new regulation allows teams to test a replacement driver if he has not taken part in a grand prix in the two previous calendar years. Relagsingh 4th Gear March 12, 2010 Share March 12, 2010 (edited) a very interesting season. past 2 seasons' champions in the same team, MS and ross brawn together again in a proven outfit along with a team mate with unleashed potential. but also alot of hype for RBR. and, alonso, hailed as one of the best talents after MS, is in SF. will be looking out for Bruno Senna as well. Jonbummer Neutral Newbie March 15, 2010 Author Share March 15, 2010 seriously... what do you guys think of the race? after the 1st lap, it was almost predictable to the point of being boring... the Red Bull will be quite untouchable if the Ferraris do not come up with another 2 or 3 tenths per lap. the McLaren looks slightly sluggish realitively. i really dun know what the FIA is doing to F1 are the smaller tyres supposed to help in overtaking? but with less front lateral grip how the drivers going to overtake more? anyway, if i am in the coucil i will not vote for the refuelling ban... boring... hope the Aussie GP will be better much better! congrats to Alonso though... he's really one good driver. and just goes to show a driver is only as fast as the car can go. cheers 1. Also, cars are heavy at the start, so look very sluggish. Don't think this season will have many overtakings. I say bring back the refueling portion. Jonbummer Neutral Newbie March 15, 2010 Author Share March 15, 2010 Lotus indeed did good in doing the whole race it certainly quashed the joke that had been going round.. Malaysia F1: one malaysia, one car, only one lap !
Weiming 1st Gear March 15, 2010 Share March 15, 2010 I found the race extremely boring. No chance of overtaking except during the start. The cars are also super slow due to the heavy amount of fuel carried. The tyre compounds also need to be tweaked as most of the cars did not suffer any blistering and they could have gone on for longer stints on the softs! Going to be a boring season unless some the rules are changed. ↡ Advertisement
