Stanley79again 1st Gear January 19, 2013 Share January 19, 2013 Just curious, anyone ever paid "loan fee" to a car agent before? Loan fee? In what sense? Take loan and still charge for loan fee? Or buy car didn't take loan and been charge loan fee(penalty)? Or is the loan not through a bank or finance institution?

Peiwen82 Neutral Newbie January 20, 2013 Share January 20, 2013 Peiwen82 pls. like what i say no matter who u buy from.. check the car properly youself... no need to pay deposit... ask them to submit for loan approval first... once loan is approve, go directasia and purchasse your insurance, its much cheaper... then bring your insurance cert down to collect the car. simple as that. i bought my previous 2 cars from them so far so good. but there are some others saying their services not so good. like yayapapaya. so its up to yourself. money in your pocket. test properly before you buy. if u are not sure like me, send the cars to STA.. Chapter1_andy 1st Gear January 21, 2013 Share January 21, 2013 Not sure whether to add mine to good or blacklist, but here are my details: Company: Carway Enterprise Shortlisted a car that I was interested in. Went down to see it @ Automobile Megamart. Test drove it, everything was ok with the car. At point of driving, car was half full (this is a key point). Tested brakes, accelerator, gear, handling, etc all ok. Paid a deposit for it to secure it, didn't sign any other documents as told the sales person I needed to come down for second viewing. Sales rep no problems. Came down 2 days later, test drove it once more. No problems encountered. Was with a qualified mechanic for 10 years at that point of time. Agreed to purchase the car. Signed the required documents. Told loan and insurance would be submitted and updated on approval. Received a call on the same day that car insurance was approved. Sounds good! At point, liking the car dealer. Also informed bank loan approved a few days later, and as promised, I could collect the car on the proposed date. Here's the interesting part, as the issues came after everything was signed and I drove the car back. 1) Topped up a full tank, and realised the fuel gauge was coming to a crawl (rem the fuel gauge was half full earlier? No way to test that out initially) At one point it even showed Empty, No fuel 2) Topped up water at the windscreen washer container. No matter how I topped it up, no water spray at all (fortunately it was raining these past few days...so literally no need for that, but still it's a must-fix) 3) Car Stereo no display (minor problem), but I could insert a CD in, and still play it. Only, I don't know what I am playing as there is ...no display (I wouldn't have thought of testing it during a test drive, would I?) 4) During test drive, tested the wipers. They were fine, no noise. After I collected the car, during one of the heavy rain days and when using it, the wipers were really noisy and at times, I had to switch it to a slower speed (but in the end, I had to switch it back as the rain was really too heavy) Called the Sales Rep, and informed about these points. Reason is because, the company stated the following in their "after sales warranty and services" Carway Enterprise - About Us Was told to bring back the car for servicing at their workshop. Here's the other interesting part. 1) The sales rep had already spoken with workshop, and they had asked to bring the car down for servicing (free of charge) 2) Upon bringing the car down for servicing, explained the problems to the mechanic and informed that they were busy with a no of vehicles, and bring on another day. BUT...my car is an OPC, are they going to pay for my e-Day license, just to bring to the workshop for servicing? Overall I had no issues with the initial sale part, but the problems come right after you sign on the dotted line and get the car. For me, I am still having mixed feelings for Carway Enterprise
Chapter1_andy 1st Gear January 21, 2013 Share January 21, 2013 In summary: Good Points: 1) As promised, I got the car on the specified date 2) No payment of extras, and not overcharged (though there was an admin fee, compared with another company it is considered ok) 3) No hassles, loan submissions were submitted and approved accordingly (I received a call from the car loan company this morning, so my details are all sent over) 4) Car came as promised, picture and description and everything was working fine. No excuses when it came to the test drive, and sales rep very helpful 5) Sales rep willing to bear costs related to the purchase as it was overlooked by their company Bad Points: 1) Slight problems came after signing on dotted line 2) Workshop and company failed to coordinate properly 3) Considering it's my first car, I would take that as a valuable lesson indeed Not sure whether to add mine to good or blacklist, but here are my details: Company: Carway Enterprise Shortlisted a car that I was interested in.
