Supersonic

I changed my timing belt at Chan's Auto, Jl Molek 2/3, Taman Molek.

At first the boss say rm80 for labour. I agree, then he wants rm100, as I told the mech to change the water pump as well...ok lah..

I stood there for 3 hrs watching the mech do the job. Not that I don't trust them, I don't trust anyone.. [laugh]

Anyway, they did a good job.

I brought along the parts I bought from Song Yi. I heard there's a parts shop around there call Maju, Jl Rosmerah 2/18. Apparently they sell parts cheaper than Song Yi.

Glad to have your infor for the WS & Spare Parts Shop, could you kindly provide Shop Names and also input for Malsin mapping for GPS navigation.

Tomorrow (21 Apr.01), I'll drop by to the places that you had recommended to take a look, and in case I might need to buy any unforeseen wear-out parts for my Optra general servicing.

Thanks in advance.........

what a joke. I owned 2 matrix before..the fuel consumption sucks big time man. The fuel indicator moves whenever I drives. I've since switched to a honda and I have never looked back.

I wil not buy my parts in JB cos I dont trust the quality & if original or imitation. My fren bought brake pads with Honda logo & look just like original but the quality sux. My SG mech suspect its imitation parts.

But I must say the Chan's auto charges r reasonable to change timing belt & water pump.

Would like to source more good WS options, please notify when and where to tag along with your team.

Regards.

I small time lah. No "team". I just go in & sometimes got fren go together & we look see look see.

I prefer to buy my parts from reputable shops in SG only as I dont trust spares sold in MY.

So far I am very happy with my SG mech but I wil still look around for another if they can do a good job at reasonable prices.

Matrix & Sonatas have been known for their high FC.

Some have very high FC but even agent cannot detect why.

What model Honda r u driving now? The Jazz has very good FC. [thumbsup]

Today JB Mech. told me it's safer to bring in spare parts from s'pore because all parts that I've boubht from song yi was inspected by him and he is satisfied to replaced all at ease.

At around 7pm, he still make a missed call to me and I returned him a call to check what is "Missing" [confused]

You know what ? He ask me how is my drive back to home ? and remined me to check my coolant level tomorrow morning, he further explained that by flushing out and refilling back coolant might caught air bubbles in the engine cooling system channels that would cause level decreasing.

My next visit should be replacing the both drive shaft dust covers, rear brake pads and 4 shock absorbers that he had examine while fixing my timing belt assembly, there goes another shopping with song yi again. [bigcry]

Our Optra has a "self-bleeding" coolant system. The air bubbles wil b purged as the engine runs. Just run & keep topping-up till the level stabilizes.

I just changed my left inner drive shaft cover. Song Yi had no stock so I managed to find it at He Xiang. Cost is $40 for 1 pc. [sweatdrop][sweatdrop][sweatdrop] But that price incls all the trimmings & a large tube of grease so its not that ex after taking all this into consideration.

BTW our next MU wil b 29 Apr abt 9 pm at Yishun coffeeshop for dinner/supper then go YD for relaxation. [gossip]
