Pinnacle is nice..A magnificent piece of mother nature.

There used to be a 1-day tour to Pinnacle. They use a 4WD coach. Quite an experience.

U can try asking your hotel reception.

When in Albany, must go to the windmill farm. Miles of big wind turbine stretch along the coast to catch the wind for electricity generation. You can go as close as to the bottom of the windmill to see how huge are these.

I am not sure if you can still go near now after 9/11, but is worth to find out.

planing a f&e holiday to Perth with 5 friends

any bro/sis went b4? don mind share ur experience here ^_^

Are you purely going for sight-seeing within Perth City? Or do you intent to venture up north or down south...

Also, do you intend to club, party, etc?? You might wanna drop by Northbridge... for the nightlife, Dim Sum and babe watching... watch out for Viets though...

I think the folks here forgot to mention Sorrento Quay and Subiaco... both within short distance from Perth city (without the need to venture too far).

Margaret River and Albany is fun, if you have the time... else going up and down waste too much time, unless travelling along quiet and quaint freeways are your idea of a nice holiday.... (one thing to note though, the phone reception down south is quite terrible, esp at Pemberton where the valley of the giants are)... So if you're those who needs comms, pls ensure backup plans.. (Optus reception is totally dead there...)

So what's your agenda?? we'll be able to give better advices based on your agenda. [:)]

If you can, make it a point to go Caversham Wildlife Park. You can get up close and personal with animals. I got to touch and play with my good friend, Skipinder the Punjabi kangaroo [laugh]

My friend is actually heading there end of this week of early next week. He's a guru of perth. Now should be close to the end of summer so temperature should not be too hot. Food? Its really ex to eat out over there. Me and my friend actually bought groceries and cooked ourselves. But of you want, try Nandos. Its the Barcelos equivalent in SG, but its realy much nicer.

And also like others have mentioned, the fish and chips area at Fremantle. I only got to try Cicerellos. Not bad. Just next door is Kailees, from their pictures, I would say the food is something like fish & co.

History.

There is an old whaling station and there are whaling things to be seen. Shows you how they hunted whales in the past.

Then there is Mt Clarence. Not so much the scenery but for the memorial trees planted there. On these trees are names of men who went to war but never came back. Not even their bodies came back. So to remember them, these tough long living trees were planted.

Albany was the last place they saw of Australia before they got shipped to Europe to fight. The last place they saw of their homeland.

To be honest, Albany is really nothing to shout about,

lets see, you will get to visit places like the wind farm (skip this if giant windmills ain
