Vtim 3rd Gear July 7, 2011 Share July 7, 2011 Technically correct. However, I also recalled reading an LTA letter from this forum that for head lamp, they will look for certification by international standards such as E-Mark and SAE. it makes sense too as head lamp by itself does not pose safety issues to other motorists unlike H.I.D which glares other road users. Not sure if I am correct. yes, if you want to convert to projector headlights that was make by aftermarket companies, LTA will normally approve if it is certified by various international standards. LTA website has a list of those recognised standards. The main thing is to inform LTA that you have install aftermarket and approved standards projector headlights for your vehicle. However, do bear in mind that you have to get the projector headlights that are meant for right-hand drive vehicles and not left-hand drive. They both have different throw (patterns) of the lights on the road.

Tigershark1976 Turbocharged July 7, 2011 Share July 7, 2011 true. i'd get aftermarket if it was allowed. but is it worth the trouble and risk 1000 fine? silly mod if u ask me, cos it's so darn obvious. might as well get reflective tint to go with it. unless the rules changed, otherwise, the fines is $70 (1st time)... just got fined last year in april... Tarquin 1st Gear August 23, 2011 Share August 23, 2011 Will it be more suitable to install the HID on the fog lamps rather than headlights? So if need to go NSH we can on both and at the same time if within SG can just use headlights? Btw, will LTA check foglamps during inspection? Also, as an option though..any know good WS to convert reflector types to projector lamps? Maybe those bolt on types so easily can put back "normal" bulbs when "necessary"
