Poorly aligned HIDs or what?

6000K is the whitest, beyond 6000K becomes bluish. 5000K still has some slight yellowish colour. Can't comment one which is more glaring though

Will it be more suitable to install the HID on the fog lamps rather than headlights? So if need to go NSH we can on both and at the same time if within SG can just use headlights? Btw, will LTA check foglamps during inspection?

Also, as an option though..any know good WS to convert reflector types to projector lamps? Maybe those bolt on types so easily can put back "normal" bulbs when "necessary"

So far most of the topic of discussion is on headlamp, how about fog light like what Tarquin bring up, hid fog lamp able to pass inspection as we are not suppose to turn it on in sg road unless poor visibility.

I'm looking into installing 3000k hid on my fog lamp as I travel up north every week night.

I read somewhere that HID consumes half of the electric power required for a normal bulb, yet 3 times brighter..

You have said 100% correct dude...agreed with your comment.

Can anyone advise HID Vs LED?

seems LED more advantage, salesman always take LED head light as a selling point

Compared to HID, LED:

can be brighter with better light distribution. Depends on the design of the headlights. Color tends to be slightly blue white.

consumes even lower power than HID.

can be even longer lasting. With LED, individual diodes usually can last years and years. With designs using multiple LED to form the light, if one diode dies, surely one of the other 30 or so should still be working...

can have more unique designs due to not requiring a bulb chamber in the same fashion. Furthermore using complex reflector/projector assembly they can have more interesting looks or more solid beam fill. example, look at Audi's matrix LED or Peugeot's 31-diode headlamps.

require extra heatsinks. LEDs don't have much heat at the light itself... but behind it, the circuit board, can get very hot. So must be very careful of installing aftermarket LED replacement for normal bulbs.

don't require care in regards to flashing or short-striking. HID can get spoilt by very brief activation without warming up, if this is done often. LED don't have such problem.

if can, I rather take LED vs HID, but both are ok.

Agree.

Prefer LED too.

Find it to be "whiter/nicer" compared to stock HID.

However, the high beam LED seems "weaker" compared to conventional yellowish halogen lamp in my opinion.

errm... strictly speaking, if come in stock, then is legal, else, if not stock and change outside one, is illegal.

even if tp dun stop you, there is a tendency will not pass vicom check.

so most of the folks will change back to the halogen one when go vicom check, then check back after the check.
