My father just scrap his Picanto last month after driving it for 10 yrs.

Very reliable car, only normal wear and tear change and maintenance done through out the year.

Good and cheap car for those looking for a temporary ride to use for the next 2-3yrs.

I guess it was the manual version? Auto version has the gearbox problem

No. Auto model.

ATF change was always done as schedule. That is very important.

Haha thanks! Mostly alone driving to school nia and sometimes supper with parents and 1 sister should be ok.. all small size i am just 45kg lol

Once you get a car and keep going for those suppers

you won't be 45kg forever.

I know this from experience.

And its so hard to lose those extra kgs.

Unless you xuay xuay get a car which needs frequent push starts confirm those extra kg will come in handy [laugh]

My picanto is coming to an end this year. Mine is mt with mileage ~150k, Car is in good condition, never break down on the road before in the last 5yrs. Also been to genting maybe 10+ times in all. Defective parts found during servicing are cv boot which were found leaking, drum brake which stuck & gasket for the engine causing eo leakage. The rest were the usual normal & major servicing. Also did the timing belt & water pump during 80k major svc.

Forget to include the dep is 3k/yr [blush], insurance below 600 55%ncd

if renew @ at 60k, i will be looking at 6k dep/yr for the same car with higher road tax ... doubt i will do that  unless coe keep coming down

Sounds like you won't be driving anymore? Else 6k dep/year is a good price, especially if you know the condition of your car. Picanto PARF rebate also not much, maybe about 5k forfeited only.

Where do you service your kia outside C&C?

I recently bought a 8 years old Kia Rio from a direct seller. Now, my front passenger door cannot be locked. Anyone here experienced similar problem before? Do you know of any workshop in Ubi area for Kia? thanks in advance.

I've been driving a Picanto coming close to 10 years already it only has a 2 months left on it but I must say all the time I've been driving it I only experienced 1 problem with it. Think about 2 years ago it had problems starting up due to some lose wiring but other than that it's been a star for me. Anyone else have issues with theirs?

Not me but a close friend had been driving a picanto all these years without major problem..

Too bad it is so unaffordable to even buy a small car in today's high COEs climate
