Bros need your expert advice on

small warehouse security system

ADT or Chubb

 

is having a monitoring system enough that is if there is an intruder, the system will alert the security firm

is there is a real need for video recording

Hi,

 

There is a difference between a monitored security service and a home video surveillance prog. The first basically monitors a fixed series of contacts n sensors, for intruder detection. But once an alarm has triggered, the owner will be informed n the next decision will hv to be made by e owner. Its not exactly a fire n forget case.

 

While for the vid, it basically provides a means to see in 'real' time the surveillance zone, and thats all. Onsite or offsite Vid recording is a separate issue, and costing. Vid quality is another issue though.

I'd chosen ADT, so far so good. ADT will contact you once your alarm is triggered by any sensors installed.

 

Example: strong wind forced open my bathroom door and triggered the door sensor - activated the alarm. They will contact me for advise, will ask did the motion sensor trigger as well, if not (so far none), will treat that as false alarm.

 

Last year, they contacted me to re-contract and offered to check the whole system on site FOC including replacement of all batteries.

 

I didn't choose chuxx, as I don't like their people running around - summoning their potential customers , sleep at the void deck, parked at double yellow lines ..... You know what I mean.

some have good views of ADT and some bad

but so far no good view on chubb

i believe all security companies provide the same services. its all comes to pricings and your budget.

 

if you are talking about warehouse and commercial goods, maybe u shld have both types; camera survillance and CICSO/ADT security installation/monitoring.

 

depends on your value of commercial goods. if its worth alot and critical to your business, you shld install all these.

 

and another thing, if you are buying warehouse/goods fire/theft insurance, the insurance companies want proper security systems before they accept your insurance.

 

does the warehouse has smoke and fire detectors?

i am in no way related to them.... just based on observation, there are a few shops using them and they are sponsors on mediacorp shows lol

ok, one more thing to go find our... among the various companies. go find out where their respective panels are made in ?

i m into my 3rd contract with them, so far my first panel lasted for abt 6~7 yrs, and it died due to panic button defective( probably due to never activate it at all)

 

you will find interesting stories on them, some MIC, some MIT others MII...
