i believe the front of the Magentis/Optima will have almost the same look as the upcoming Sportage...

the only thing that is hindering the sales of this car is the dull image that it exudes...

the Magentis has to get out from this image...

get a revamp!!

Turbocharged

update:

http://www.mycarforum.com/blog/myautoblog/...e-new-magentis/

If this car is below 80k at current COE, it will be a good bargin than the new Sonata.

Can afford to own a Jargur or Audi, get this car as the replacement then

which part say it is below 80K??

Also Can afford to own a Jargur and Audi why get this car?? or do you mean cannot afford [:p]

the new Magentis K5 must have at least the same build quality as the current Magentis or better...

style is one thing, however, C&C must package the car as with the Forte to flood the road with the Magentis...

if the build is like the ix35 Tucson or Sorento, then no case!!

[rolleyes]

(edited)

The side windows look smaller than typical car. Wonder will we having problem to check blind spot.

Hopefully, this car does not feel like tin can when opening/ closing the door. That is what turn me off when trying the Forte as it made the car become cheapo, even though it's look attractive.

i don't think depth of windows affects blind spot...

rather it's how thick the pillars are...

the size of the windows does affect the feeling of spaciousness in the car though...

the ix35 for example has pretty shallow windows, so you feel quite cramp up in the car...

the thick D-pillars does add to the blind-spot though...

It would depend on wat engine options they gonna give (and also the COE at that time) but i m guessing/expecting between $78k for 2.0L, (Forte 2.0 SX is $70k now) to $88k for 2.4L and who knows maybe $100k for 3.2L V6 (based on current COE levels)? My wish list: 6 speed dual clutch transmission (i'm sure will have at least the current 6speed found in Sorento) & electric seats. My fantasy list: come out with a 1.8L turbo/twin charged engine (to compete with Passat CC)!! And while they're at it, do a 1.4L twin charged Koup ($78k) to compete with Jetta Sport/Golf Sport/Mito Multiaire!

Alternatively, you could just get a Passat CC, or some of the VW models like Golf or Sirocco. Just saying.

Electric seat? Whats that, I know the type for execution though....

OOT abit.

frankly speaking, Hyundai and KIA had done a good job.

however, in SG, i got to say that not many will buy this one even if the engine comes with V6 or even V8, the gearbox can come with DSG or even 8AT.

but end of the day, those "mid-class tao kays" will still head down to BM for a Camry though it is only a 4AT/5AT, inline4.

why? at least Jap brand.

I think the Koreans are trying very hard to cover all ranges of people.

at this moment, only small sedan can attract current SG drivers and will take awhile longer to accept bigger Kor rides.

Cheap is already a history and Kor car price is getting close to Jap car, is another factor.

like for myself, i45 is damn nice and with good technology.

but it just bother me to pay for that price for a Kor car. that's how i feel.

Neutral Newbie

I think it shows a person's foresight by choosing quality products instead of following the crowd to support the current "best brand".

Kia just lowered their price since last bidding, and have stayed there ever since....

as advertised, the Forte is going from $54,999 and the Koup from $64,999....

and i do seriously hope that Kia will come out with a luxury brand themselves, like what Lexus is to Toyota or Acura is to HOnda....

notice all the luxury car brands have at least 2 syllabus in their brand name???

Kia only has 1....
