Anyone looking for a Starlet??

Not really. If you pay for the COE and it's high, at least you know it's worth the paper value if something happens to it to make it a total loss. For the 2019 COE, the value of the COE is only worth S$4000+. If total loss, all you get back is pro-rated of $4000. And you're paying $16000 for it. If nothing goes wrong for the 9 years, you just bought yourself cheap motoring. If it does...

So it's a greater risk to get the COE 2019 one, but cheaper. So you decide.

Hope that clarifies things bro.

Well explained bro! Agreed on the high risk on low COE cars in the market...

$10k over paper value on a COE car might be too risky to stomach...

In any event that the car breaks down u have to restore to working condition again before it has any decent resale value..

If not, sending for scrap will only get back the few thousands of low paper value.. [:p]

I think in this case, the real winner is the original owners who have renewed the COE! Nothing to lose but a lot to gain if they manage to sell their cars much higher than before renewal.. -ENVIOUS!-

Hope all the starlet bros will be able to afford comfortably the renewal of the 3rd life for the starlets...... If only the $30k could lose 1 zero again... Haha...

I'm looking for a good condition EP80 to take over and renew COE.

My EP80 will last till AUG 2011, like most others. Just thinking anyway renewing, might as well find a better condition one (well taken care of) to renew.

Thanks!

Hi Bros,

After much considerations, I have finally decided to sell my EP80 cheap cheap as a ride. Definately no repairs needed to drive till the end of COE on 08/2011.

Some mods are:

1) SU Carb (on 1E)

2) Extractors

3) Adapted Tan leather seats from Swift

4) 4 wheel GT disc brakes

5) Upgraded Brake master cylinder

6) Front and Rear Strut Bars

7) Sports Rims

8) Quite new Aircon compressor (Important - Aircon still very cold)

9) GR80

Letting go at $2500, do let me know.

Thanks

[wave] All you closet Starlet people Come out! Nowadays this forum like ghost town lidat!

I'm still here. COE till 2019, so won't be going anywhere for a while. Are you going to renew your COE? Saw your car at Saber's 2 weeks back. I like the way your Weber is st up man. Idles real smooth.

what's wrong with that car?

has it been involved in a serious accident? (if structural damaged incurred, it should be scrap.)

half cut welded together? (this is a NO NO.)

otherwise, if it's in good mechanical n electrical condition. should be an ok A-B daily car (around the 2K mark a year).
