My first change of brake pads done by TCM was 115k Last service in mid Sep at 220k stil no need to change! Dunno whether they will change brake pads when I go for 230k servicing next week.

Also last service TCM told me that my battery wont last long with reading of 78% or 87%. It has been more than 3 months since and battery already 46 months old and still no sign that battery will up lorry. This the first time my battery lasted so so long [speechless]

If yr battery covered by TCM warranty n change free, ask them to do.

Otherwise u get outside much cheaper.

My car more than 7 years and battery 46 month old, where got any warranty. At the last servicing, TCM suggested that it's cheaper to change battery outside and recommended amaron which is my current one.

Anyone uses slotted rotor before? What is the braking improvement like for slotted disc rotor? I am looking for Brembo & TRW slotted as original honda disc rotor can be quite expensive.

you will notice if you always go for tracking and do hard braking frequently.

its just the design to improve the cooling effect to minimize brake fading issue.

if normally usage, don't think it will help much on improvement. some more the brake pad will wear faster as it "cut thru" the slot when rotate/braking action.

For big improvement, change bigger brake rotor, bigger brake piston or brake booster.

changed brake pads yest, $98 for front, $98 for rear. Then need to skim rear brake disc cos workshop said brake pad worn out got contact... $120, top up brake fluid $40, labour $84. total damage $440...

Is this fair huh?

Thanks. I was tempted to change to TRW or Brembo slotted (http://www.jscarforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=133#p227) because it does not compromise performance (unlike heavy big brake kit), and I heard substantial improvement by as much as 30% with a good pair of brake pad. Most importantly, wont burn a big hole in my pocket.

as the rotor diameter is same as existing, surface friction coefficient on rotor will be same as your previous one. changing brake pad material may improve.

what brake pad they offer to give 30% improvement?

do they mentioned any long term side effect?

no harm trying,,

looking forward of your feedback..

I was recommended to use Brembo Slotted + Brembo Brake Pad.

I need to replace my rear brake pads with new ones which I already bought them online. I am using brembo rotors.

Can I ask someone to recommend a good and reasonable workshop that doesnt charge an arm/leg.
