No offence but I look down on parking cameras. It is an invention for kayu who can't park a QQ in a parade square. As a manly man, I consider it beneath contempt to use such a noob device. Machiam like riding a bicycle with 4 wheels.

 

It's only to assist. At the end of the day have to use own judgement. Because for the most kayu people, no camera is going to help.

 

I don't trust the parking sensor 100% also. It's only a rough indicator.

This is probably how the "parking assist" of the Skoda Superb works.

 

The sensor takes in all the distance and then calculates how much it should turn to parallel park.

 

But I guess a human can do it faster....I normally just use gut feeling.

The formula is just to determine the minimum space required to parallel park a car of given length and width. If you take a good look at such a minimum space, I think most of us will be doubtful whether can park or not.

 

Most of us perform parallel parking in spaces that are more than enough for our cars, spaces large enough so that even with 'eye' judgement we can tell that it is sufficient.

 

But some arguments in this thread are laughable, seems to imply that people up North are more manlier... why? Because they definitely have more parallel parking lots and more practice than us!
