Itsec 2nd Gear February 9, 2010 Share February 9, 2010 Cons: 1) Evo/WRX go past and the alarm will go off. 2) Scramblers go past and the alarm will go off. 3) Thunderstorm and the alarm will go off. 4) Quite irritating at times especially at night when there's a thunderstorm I had to disarm and use the normal locking. 5) Forgot to add, the extra remote is bulky. what alarm u using?? that's very sensitive if all the described scenarios happened to u.. ↡ Advertisement

Kurty Supercharged February 10, 2010 Author Share February 10, 2010 sorry, may i ask. lets say the alarm goes off in the night while you are sleeping, will it auto switch off after some time? or it rang all the way until the owner deactivate it. Sg2303 2nd Gear February 10, 2010 Share February 10, 2010 (edited) I think that would depend on the alarm itself. For mine, slight shock such as thunder, loud exhaust from wrx/evo, door knocking on the side etc, it'll sound 5 times then off. Heavy shock such as other cars knock into you (workshop said this, not tested) or intruder pulls the door handle (tested), then it'll sound till you go and off it. Kurty Supercharged February 10, 2010 Author Share February 10, 2010 actually, after reading the above comments. it seems with or without alarm, don't seems to be an issue... with - it add as another form of security without - sg is safe after all... hardly hear the news reporting missing cars.. still thinking if i should go for an alarm.. though nowadays, alarm prices are really cheap and reasonable
Sg2303 2nd Gear February 10, 2010 Share February 10, 2010 Actually in SG also got cars go missing. Just that it's not common. (Quite common in woodlands though) It's actually a matter of whether alarm can help prevent theft. IMO, alarm sound, nobody bothers unless it's been sounding for very long and is disturbing someone's sleep. Also, the good thieves are able to disable your alarm before stealing your car. So, what do you think?

Sg2303 2nd Gear February 13, 2010 Share February 13, 2010 (edited) You'll have to see what you are looking for in a car alarm. Most of the time, they have similar functions. What I did last time was, go to a good shop and tell them what I want in the car alarm. Then they showed me all to choose.
