She practices taiji every other morning. Plus every day walk the grandchild to school.

Yap it does help but she always complain that must munch on biscuit/bread etc etc or else blood sugar low and she will have fainting spells. Thatz why very terok when go overseas, every other hour must munch on food to maintain usgar level or must do so before she can take her pills................

[:(]

BTW if you guys hear that TCM can cure diabetes, dun bother. Tried before. Bought in China from their "famous" medicinal halls and cost me something like S$2000.

It is not a psycho thing. It's real. Because of the medication she is taking, she must take regular snacks or she will go hypo (low blood sugar). The medication lowers blood sugar and if you don't have any carbs then a diabetic will go hypo. Going hypo is very dangerous and can lead to death. It will not be possible for a diabetic on medication to cut all form of carbo without first stopping medication. Problem is when they stop medication, then they will go hyperglycemic (very high blood sugar). I guess they will have to gradually cut down the medication and cut down carbs. Quite a difficult balance..

Better do it with doctor's supervision.

basically, you are what you eat... this is the fundamental we all need to remember.

controlling diet will help.. it may not totally 100% cure, but it will definitely reduce by a big percentage

go natural or organic with the food intake, no processed foods at all.

Sometime telling people to take care, they will not listen. So pictures to remind them might be helpful.

Shui gui chao (water tortoise grass) in Chinese. Available in some wet markets ($2-3 a bag); easy to grow but vulnerable to snails.

Boil lemongrass and crushed blue ginger and do a foot bath using the warm liquid. Helps improve blood circulation.

Don't worry. If she and the family members are vigilant about wound and skin care, most of the time should have no issue one.

sorry to hear that, my mother too had a fall early this year ... she suffered a bruise on her ankle and the trouble with having diabetes is that the bruise took a long to heal & became infected and swollen. So she had a incision to remove the infection and currently recuperating at home now.

I am not a dr but based on googling [grin] diabetes type 2 can be improved alot by lifestyle changes & diet.

The type of food we eat, how much we eat, when we eat & how sedentary our lifestyle will affect how much sugar in our blood.

as for me, i am worried for my health as i got my mother's genes too.

right now i am doing intermittent fasting coupled with some exercise.

below are the links which motivated me to do so ...
