u r actually paying additional for the coe..not for the car...tink u need to understand tat...i tink wish n stream is also nearing what is the price of sorento now..and the other cars are only 1.8 n 2.0 only. functions wise also lose out.

I know what you are trying to tell me , but my point is i know they are improving but we singaporeans always thinks that ''Toyota is the best'' like wise ''Japanese car is the best''

my meaning is this and so i am one of those singaporean =P

hmm, thats why people like you (no offence intended) are not really being fair to the korean competitors.

you should give them some consideration if u are switching cars, maybe that gap of quality you perceived to be present in the past, isnt there already.

maybe by then, overtaken japanese cars already.

toyota & japanese makes <_< just like how some people think conti is ALWAYS the best. ok lah not always as well [laugh]

anyway drove a while on my new car and it still needs getting used to such a big car..parking is not tat easy anymore and now i turn a bigger circumference then before..cant see below...the car everything is good except i tink handling portion is not tat good as i cant feel my wheels turn..otherwise still very comfy n loads of functions...

hey congrats Pentux and Bodyglove!

bodyglove: will be seeing ur sorento on tuesday in our carpark ya? ;-)

pentux : i agree with u on the parking, but it'll get easier. By yesterday (1 wk after collection), the parking has become alot easier. Tactile feedback of the wheels is not very hands on because its more plush-oriented rather than hardcore suv. That being said the ride comfort when cruising is awesome, alot smoother than my CRV previously. Drove it to resorts world last friday, lovely drive along the ECP with both sunroofs letting in light :)

i guess everyone has a right to their own opinions, for us sorento owners, its a real joy, and we're happy. End of the day buy what you like the most, japanese, korean, european etc. Freedom of choice. A side note; many of us here in this forum paid well below 100k for the sorento, even the SX version (i paid $89,999) so well, for its long list of features & built quality, not too bad lah.. its the darn COE thats causing a bit of chaos

actually last time i also dun like kia but drove kia cerato n found it ok. then sorento launch and i was like wow! the old version had very bad reviews but the new one got good reviews..and i am really won over by the new car..

does everyone here turn on their headlights to normal as i really feel it is very bright..tink pple will hate us..tink we high beam

the sound system i am still very pleased...dun feel like got subwoofer though..does it state woofer or sub woofer?

wish list

1) it would be good if there is rain sensor for the wipers.

2) alarm system built in (anyone know how secure is the lock system? can someone easily drive away your car without your key?)

3) automatic closing of side mirrors

bodyglove: yup drove crv for almost 5.5 years, excellent vehicle. The engine performance and build quality exactly the same from the day i collected in 2004, to the day i gave it up to C&C 2 weeks ago, no decrease in its performance. Quite sad to see her go, never gave a single problem.. but i guess we humans cant resist change (and the smell of a new vehicle). Always been pro-jap rides, but thought i give korean car a try, hope the sorento's quality last exactly the same as the crv.

pentux: the SX's headlights are bright huh, feel quite bad sometimes, esp when you come right behind a small sedan, i think the HIDs are right in their eye level :-( i try to keep far distance or move to an empty lane in front of me so not to disturb them.

p.s. last friday i was along east coast road, at a traffic light stop an identical titanium silver SX was facing me, when we drove off both of us looking at each other hahaha.. the other driver is an uncle, 50+ years old. He just stared at me, weird.

Maybe he has been looking around for another Sorento on the road?

Saw a white Sorento on the AYE towards ECP after Alexandra Rd exit yesterday around 6:45pm. My first Sorento sighting on the road, except my own of coz... As I drove past on its left, turned my head to look at the driver, and he was also looking at me [:p] If you are on this forum, do post to say 'Hi'... [wave]

wonder how many sorento owners in this forum.. maybe 8 max? Interesting; majority of sightings on the roads have been white color :-) i myself saw 2 white ones; one on PIE and one parked at resorts world (maybe owner gambling to upgrade to Audi Q7 heheh)
