Uh. My father is a retired gynae. And many years ago that happened to him in his 911. They actually escorted him and helped clear traffic lol. 😁

oh good, so it's not isolated case. The one i heard was - think still is - a gynae at TMC, who runs a clinic in the North. He drove a modest Altis, which he had used to send his patient(s) from his clinic to TMC after water bag burst... good chap.

my respect for the TP has gone up, a bit 😀

Can be quite difficult to prove

Unless closing speed is similar to the lorry.... meaning hogging Lane one also.... 😅

Unless straightaway filter to lane 2 ahead the lorry then slow down to 80km/h showing the lorry have opportunity to filter to 3rd lane but still maintaining on lane 2.😂

I have an old friend NCO reservist kaki, very supportive SGT and always volunteer himself as advance party for any company exercises, so that was his talent, I suppose. Haha !

going forward, he volunteered his services himself under Police Academy as a " Under cover " opicer, his core duty includes , issue ticket/s to illegal parking, excessive speeding and others job scopes necessary . .  . bottom line, you can also volunteer your service as Police volunteer for such work, however i do understand that one has to attain couples of hours per week for training classes and police work requirement , we were previously from the Army Infantry battalion ( Reservist ) [rifle]

Quite a lot of time and effort required. 😅

Should just remind those with in car cameras to send to TP is heavy vehicles are travelling in lane one. This type should be no excuses for speeding and hogging at Lane 1.

Unless it's due to lane 1 and 2 have incidents and all vehicles need to filter to 1st lane.

MHA proposes higher penalties for evading road blocks, expanding scope of forced entry by police

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has proposed increasing penalties for evading road blocks and criminalising the breach of police cordons under proposed amendments to the Police Force Act. For the offence of evading police road blocks, MHA is proposing a maximum jail term of seven years and/or fine of S$10,000, up from a maximum jail term of 12 months and/or fine of S$5,000.

The new penalties take reference from the offence of voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from his duties, which carries a similar level of harm and intent. For instance, police have encountered motorists who evaded road blocks and endangered the lives of officers and other road users in the ensuing car chase.

Police will use discretion when recommending charges for these types of offences, based on how much the offender is at fault and the physical elements involved.

The highest penalties will only apply to the most serious cases, like when a motorist intentionally drives through a road block and causes grievous hurt to a police officer.

MHA will also expand the definition of evading a road block to include methods like alighting and escaping, making a U-turn or reversing before the road block. Currently, the offence only provides for motorists who drive through the road block without stopping.

CRIMINALISING BREACH OF POLICE CORDONS

MHA will make it an offence for people to cross barriers and cordons set up by the police to control human traffic. Those who do so could be jailed up to three months and/or fined up to S$2,500, taking reference from the offence of obstruction of a public servant in the discharge of public functions.

MHA will also formally set out in law the police's power to set up cordons and barriers to control human traffic, including preventing entry to crime scenes or secure areas. The law already empowers officers to do the same to control vehicular traffic.

This reminds me of something - do you guys really print a hardcopy of your car's insurance and keep it in the glove compartment?

nope. not going malaysia, so no need. in Singapore if TP or LTA stops you, they can easily check validity online.

Anyway, i have also chosen the option not to insure travel to Malaysia when i renewed my insurance in Jan2021. Save a little bit.
