Ladykillerz 4th Gear January 29, 2010 Share January 29, 2010 my choice. =p 1st - C180 <-- not fair to compare cos only 1.6L, should be C200 at least. 2nd - A4 3rd - 320i <-- If 325i or 335i, will be my 2nd choice.

Davc Neutral Newbie January 29, 2010 Share January 29, 2010 If BMW, must be big capacity. If Audi must be Quattro. At that price, my choice is the Merc. If budget up, it will be 325.

Sometimes the heart just rules over the head........... For me: C180 1)Performance (8/10) 2)Handling (7.5/10) 3)Comfort (7.5/10) 4)Looks/Styling (8/10) 5)Build Quality (8/10) 6)Equipment Level (8/10) Total: 47/60 320 1)Peformance (7/10) 2)Handling (8.5/10) 3)Comfort (7/10) 4)Looks/Styling (7/10) 5)Build Quality (6.5/10) 6)Equipment Level (6/10) Total: 42/60 A4 1)Performance (7.5/10) 2)Handling (7/10) 3)Comfort (8/10) 4)Looks/Styling (8.5/10) 5)Build Quality (8/10) 6)Equipment Level (8.0/10) Total: 47/60 A4 and C180 is a tie but if resale value is taken into consideration, I think C180 would be the overall winner. You can't look at the engine capacity. C180 has around the same horsepower as the other two and same 0-100 when compared to 320. C200 is to be compared with the 323 and not 320. Damienic 5th Gear January 29, 2010 Share January 29, 2010 (edited) not true liao....the A4 2nd hand are surprisingly selling quite high... when you say surprisingly high, which A4 you referring to? A4 attraction or A4 ambition? If I'm not wrong, for first hand, the C180 selling price is around the same as that of the A4 attraction but A4 ambition selling price is higher than the C180(by about 10K if I'm not wrong). So if the selling price of 2nd hand A4 amibtion is seen as high when compared to the 2nd hand C180, it is not a direct comparison as A4 ambition is 10K pricier than A4 attraction (around 10K more ex than the C180) to start off with..so if a same age C180 and A4 ambition is both sold at around the same price level in 2nd hand market, the depreciation for the latter is still higher. If it is a same age C180 versus an A4 attraction, I doubt the A4 attraction would fetch around the same price as the C180 in 2nd hand market. Just my opinion, I might be wrong.. Xusadnoh Neutral Newbie January 29, 2010 Author Share January 29, 2010 not true liao....the A4 2nd hand are surprisingly selling quite high... I guess MBs should have a slight upper hand in terms of resale value due to brand perception...............
Xusadnoh Neutral Newbie January 29, 2010 Author Share January 29, 2010 On the other hand, for 2nd hand A4s.... this seems like a good deal, barring the high mileage........... what do u ppl think? http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...977&DL=1359

Dun mean to sound freakish but i'm along the same frequency as you. Audi? at least quattro or else its just a expensive VW. Unless the pricing is a bit lower. No doubts abt their impeccable built quality though. BMW's weedy 2 litre engines just dun cut the mustard. So what if it handles well? I dun buy a premium junior exec to keep harping on how it 'handles'... Merc; doesnt need to be powerful cuz its meant to be cruiser. Respectable output anyway from a 1.6 and lower running costs. But still can't really shed the ah peh image. If strictly choose between the 3, C180K for me.

BMW 1 series, 2L 4 pot is more than enough. It is a fun juz like E30 of yesteryear. I would also make the same choice.
