Applied dg 111 clearcoat on black car

applied 111 on already polished black car but not much diff, any reason why ?

 

was hoping to add depth and wetness to car

 

do i have to do several layers e.g 1 a day.

 

pls advise

 

products on car

 

101 polish

111 clearcoat

951 aquawax and 921 qd

 

following day 1 did

 

111 clearcoat hoping to add depth but nothing!

Hi Verve..There are few things I can think about..

 

1) prep work- this is very impt..I would say this is 95% of your final result..

 

2) the color? is yours solid black? there are certain color code that is quite difficult to bring out the depth

 

My personnal view ..i do find 111 pops up the flakes rather then adding depth..try skip the QD921..finish off with 951 had it cured..

sapphire black..certain angle it looks blue-ish and night time it looks black..If i read yr mind..u actually wanted it to be more towards black then the blue-ish effect..hehe..

My guess is the 111 actually brings out the flakes so you see the blue-ish effect more than black

 

Do a clay first and if surface are not too bad..go through with quick detailer then applied 111

 

Yes i still have just few tubs of 915 left with me...i suggest shared among yr friends...can last u at least 1 or 2 years for hand application..

Hi bro Verve, from my experience black car is the best color to show depth as compared to other colors even if it comes with flakes or pearl in the paint (of course the only exception is matt black). Generally sealant will give you a more shiny and reflective look, so if you are seriously going for that deep wet look on your car, the best option is to go for a good quality carnauba wax.

Actually I wanted to post some photos showing how deep a black sapphire car can be with a good quality wax, but on second thought better not, just in case I receive another warning from our dear mod, just like the other time when I received a warning for only posting 2 photos of a yellow S2000 .

when it comes to good wax how much are u talking about, i heard of waxes that cost hundreds, which makes it out of reach. (or in the sense that i would not be willing to part with 500 just for wax

Hi bro Verve, you are right. SOme of the high quality carnauba wax does cost alot but luckily we do have some pretty decent priced good quality carnauba wax. From Zymol we have the Carbon wax, Swissvax Onyx, DoDo SUpernatural (sample pot) P21S 100%, Victoria Yellow/Red Wax, Mother's Pure Carnauba Wax and so on. All these wax the prices roughly range from $50 - $180, so they are still pretty affordable .

Ya manz...those high quality really cost few grands..I have one customer aka friend now.. really crazy about zymol wax..he had a full range off zymol in his fridge..Note: the fridge is for his wax ONLY.. he got himself the 7000 dollars zymol wax..free refill and every 2 years he send back for refill..the freight alone is 500 dollars according..

 

wah danz..his red red ferrari and blue lambo machiam pour oil on them...really very very swee but he told me dun expect much durability from all this beauty wax and want to buy must buy the high grade 1..then i pass him my 915 to use..haha..so paiseh and he ask me what is it and i told him is about 1K plus...wahahaha..he say hmmm..not bad not bad..very durable..he always ask me to try this on that..how to follow... although i also drive 2 door like him but is a van

thank god for duragloss, maybe cannot compare with the 7k wax, but for us hand detailer we pay with out sweat so good to have durability.
